I was wondering, why did Harman and Ising remake the same cartoon over so many times? I've seen a few of the "Little Ol' Bosko" cartoons, and they are all so similar, all that gets changed is what the frogs are (they've been cannibals, pirates, Arabians, etc) and they all want "Gandma's cookies." Occasionally they change some of the gags, though.

They are very enjoyable cartoons, though. It's all just musical fun, and frogs all act like popular black performers of the day.

I think it's MGM's funniest series of the era! The madness and insanity of these toons makes them some of my all-time favorite MGM cartoons! Also, does anyone else think besides me that the genie frog in "Bosko in Bagdad" says "D@$* IT! D@$S IT! OWW!!" when he's jumping on the machine? I remember watching these when my friends stayed over for the night, we fell off of our seats laughing.

Yeah, anyone who thinks H-I era cartoons are all just slow stories with cute animals should watch these (not that I don't love the slow stories with cute animals, though :D ) They are great cartoons, I just think it's wierd that there are so similar at times. I guess if you have to make a series of cartoons follow a formula, give them some spirit and energy.

By the way, who is the black performer who Bosko outdances? The tall, thin one. It's on the tip of my tounge and I just can't remember.

I've NEVER seen one of these cartoons - but a guess would be William "Bojangles" Robinson?
