The show is hilarious, clever and, at times, touching. You've really been missing out.

I love that show. All the characters are so hilarious! It's just so hard for me to choose who's funnier. Tino, Lor, Carver, or Tish? Tino is sarcastic funny, Lor is dumb funny, Carver is funny with his antics, and Tish is sophisicated funny.
They really need to make new episodes of this.

I agree, The Weekenders is a good show. It is entertaining and the characters are very likeable. It had a few good moral values in it too. The show never really seemed to have that many viewers though, I don't know why.

It was the #1 watched cartoon its very first week...
...and in my opinion, it was the best cartoon Disney made.

I wasn't a very big fan of it when the show first started out but ever since it came out on Toon Disney I've been watching it and now am a fan of the show. It's very funny at times, and I agree the characters are all likeable, after just barley getting into it along with Lloyd in Space I too wish they would make new episodes of this special show and of course along with one of the best newer shows of our century Kim Possible. Sadly it probably won't happen unless they break that stupid 64 episode limit thing, oooops wrong topic any ways yah I'm a fan of the show it's pretty cool.

LOL I've always loved "The Weekenders", ever since it's debut on "Disney's 1 Saturday Morning". I watched it every weekend morning then, but when it debuted on Toon Disney that's when I really started to enjoy this show:) LOL My favorite character is Tish. She cracks me up! Plus I'm a sucker for any Kath Soucie voice-over:)

They need to release a DVD of it. I'd definitely buy it!
Did they make enough for a DVD?

There are 78 episodes, so yes. That's true and in fact The Weekenders does have it's own "Dynamics" (Alright I'll admit, I liked this show, but not for the stories but for the interesting Character Dynamics that occurred.. There was enough tension between the four friends that a lot of times the conflict and problem would start on a Friday and by Sunday the problem would be resolved.. The Writing while Fresh could have expanded on a lot of other issues and problems that the characters could have faced, but gladly this is one of those shows that didn't go too far but also sadly didn't go quite far enough.. The Weekenders in short was a great show Dynamically, but sadly the show's ideas were cut down in their prime.. and in fact this show could have gone a lot farther.. in fact I myself would have liked to seen even a movie come out.. but sadly that's not going to happen now is it? ah well C'est La Vie..!

I'd also love to see a "Weekenders" DVD. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. And I'd say that there were enough episodes to make a DVD. I'd say "Weekenders" did have quite a few episodes, even though quite a few really wasn't enough.

Loved the Weekenders clever writing, fun dialouge, and some pretty good voice acting. In my opinion Jason Marsden's best voice work was Tino. I kind of liked Tish to, she was "the smart one".

That's one of my FAVORITE cartoons. I'll laugh at certain episodes no matter how often I see them. I kinda wish Lor was older though. I think she'd be cute. As it is though, I guess i'll have to settle for Tino's mom. She's hot herself.:o

Actually, what you call episodes are just 15 minutes long. (There are some 30 minute eps too, tho). As a result, it's more like 39 shows. Just to clear up the confusion.
IMO, if they could have gone further, more Kirk/Penny and Ms. Tonitini/Dixon action would have been welcome for me.

Ooops... you're right.
I misread the episode guide I looked at.
So it should've went longer, much longer.

The Weekenders, along with Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is one of the best shows to come out of the current non-JETIX Toon Disney schedule. I especially like Tino.
FYI: Wayne Brady, most commonly known for Whose Line is it Anyway? records the theme song for the show. Another reason why I love it.

I agree. I was really wanting more interaction between Tino's Mom and Dixon. Kirk and Penny wouldv'e been nice too. And definitely some closure on Lor and that boy with the sandals that she liked.

I love the Weekenders. It was one of Disney's best shows and one of my favorite "slice of life" shows. Its a shame the show ended when it did. I would have liked to see how the relationship between Dixon and Tino's mom turned out.
Another thing I liked about the show was how it portrayed life in a Southern California beach town without making the kids all speak in wierd slang or play 'Xtreem Sportz'. SoCal stereotypes are annoying

I like it. It's not my favorite recent Disney cartoon - that would be Kim Possible - but it's not a bad way to waste a half-hour.

First post for me in 2005...
Sandal boy = Thompson, correct? Then again, we'd get tired of the "just be yourself" storylines that Lor/Thompson plots seem to get...
Meanwhile, what about Carver? He had interests in both Nonah (tall girl who hates pineapples) and Moira (Dixon's daughter, I don't believe that she ever actually spoke)...

The Weekenders is a cool show. I usually watch it to pass the time or when nothing else is on. Suprisingly my favorite character would have to be Tino's mom. She's so cool and I love her comments and advice she gives to Tino.

Yeah, his name is Thompson. LOL His name slipped me for a moment. And I think you're right. Now that I think about it Lor/Thompson's episodes were kind of annoying with the whole "be yourself" meesages every episode. My two favorite characters on this show are Tino's Mom aand Tish. I'm really not too keen on Carver, but he did have interest in that skinny brown-headed girl in "Vengence" and Nonah also did have interest in him. Also, Carver did have interest in Moira, but we only saw her in one episode. And Moira did say a few words, not too much.

Actually, she had a speaking role in just one ep ("Dixon", the first thirty-minute ep), appeared in a crowd scene of sorts in another ("Father's Day", she's with Dixon), and was mentioned in another (the one with the salon party... BTW, since I never saw the Valentine's one with Jennifer Hewitt, I was wondering what Tish was talking about when Tish wanted to pair Tino up with some Tasha girl, until some TW fan in England, Paul Evans, told me about it).

I started watching it when I had Toon Disney, but then my parents got rid of that channel, and I never saw it again. I was begining to like that show.xD

I have wondered though, if they did more episodes, would there have probably been a double date episode with Lor/Thompson and Tino/Tasha?
Any other pizza store idea they could have done?
Here's one, Choco Pizza.

Okay, three of them:
* "Taking Sides". I would have paid to actually see Carver pulling a reverse Tin Cup (if you've seen the ep, you'll understand) and playing a safe, and winning, pool shot to win Laird's trophy, instead of Tino just showing off his desktop of him and Carver holding it at the end of the story. I thought it would have brought things more full circle.
* "Tish's Hair". Tish is the genius of the gang, but you couldn't tell that from watching this ep alone. The ending was the icing on the cake (and not just for the sight of Bluke's hair).
* "Croquembouche". For a while I thought that no other show would be dumb enough to do the same thing this ep did: So basically, after Tino sums up the whole thing backstage while Carver's presenting his cake and says "Later Days", instead of cutting to the final result a la "Talent Show", it just fades to black without revealing the final result.
Then All Grown Up!'s "Izzy or Isn't He?" does this with a safety commisioner election. Shucks.

The Weekenders is like the best show I've seen on Disney for a long time. They should make a movie out of it.
