View Full Version : No Batman Char. + JLU = Good Continuity for BB

I've been doing alot of thinking and I think its good that Timm and Co. can't use batman villians anymore, because that means no more Joker, thus we can assume he's dead, and then the flasback in retrun of the joker has happened, maybe even when the League was busy rebuilding after Starcrossed. That would make perfect sense. THink about it, if it occured right after the league lost the watchtower and hawkgirl, Baman wouldn't have too many other hero's to rely on for help. Supes, Flash and the two johns would be busy rebuilding/ regrouping whats left of their justice league, and after such a tragidy batman might not want to admit to the rest of the league he failed and Robin was captured. Also, it would explain why Robin was patroling the streets by himself, cause bats is always busy with the leauge! :D And now Batman is around alot more in JLU, like he's trying to stay away from Gotham becaue of bad memories. the timing couldn't be better to get rid of the BTAS supporting cast. IF the ROTJ flashback has happend we have no need for Tim, the Joker, or even Barbara. After the flashback i bet her and bruce fought alot, and eventually she stoped being batgirl and joined gotham P.D. THat we wouldn't need to see either. I dunno about you guys, but i think this is where ROTJ will fit in my own little continuity, this way Tim doesn't get too old for it to ever happen. Not to mention that the events in "once and Future thing" won't have an impact of saving Robin or the Joker from dieing becase those events would have already occured! Man i'm on a roll now, guess we have to just wait and see what future eps of JL will bring. What do you think guys? Am i nuts?

i dought it, since i dun believe the joker is dead. Because Bruce Tim stated once before, "BB is a possibe future". It also would make sense for Batman, to be on so many League missions, because someone is watching over Gotham [Batgirl and Robin].

I see what your saying, but i think Batman is getting old, and is alot less powerful than the rest of the league and is headed to that future of making a new suped up suit, and leaving the league to be a loner. PLus (no offense) but BB is more then a "possible" future, Timm only said it to please fans who don't like batman beyond, i hate when people try to use that as an arguement agaisnt batman beyond, when cleary so many events in JL keep BB to be true. The only thing i would think to be a "possible" future is what happens to Timm, but i beleive Bruce will get old, be forced to use a gun, give up, and let Terry take over.

The Joker is still alive. Booster Gold even stated it in "The Greatest Story Never Told"

The Joker is still alive. Booster Gold even stated it in "The Greatest Story Never Told"I was just going to mention that. However remember in ROTJ the Joker's fate was known only to Batman, Batgirl, and James Gordon. (Well, Tim and Leslie Thompkins too.) There is a distinct possibility that the Joker could have died and it wasn't common knowledge in the league at the time, at least among the newbies.
Personally I think the flashback takes place AFTER JLU. There have been so many instances on this show where we see Batman either smiling or connected. I always got the feeling that Batman quit the league and was starting to self destruct by the time Tim was kidnapped. Otherwise, he would have called the league for backup in the search for Tim.

^I doubt that. As if b.t. gets to use the Batman characters again. I hope they use the Joker.
b.t. don't listen to the maniac who started this thread. We want the Batman characters back! :p
(I was serious about the bringing back the Batman characters part)

Also, when Return of the joker was writen and released. The Justice League cartoon was not yet a thought, or even being created. So trying to put anything from that movie, with events in the Justice League. Is like mixing oil with water, it don't mix, and its makes no sense.

True, he is very jolly in JLU and it would make more sence for him to get crankier, leave the league, have Tim kidnapped, and then break apart with Barbra Gordon as well. And i thought i had something going to with this whole, you can't use BTAS characters anymore oh well

lol, i know, it is truely sinful of me to be happy that B.T. can't use the batman characters anymore, and to go ahead and try to give WB extra reasons to keep them away is insane ...... little do you know i am an exec. from WB trying to make excuses for my bad business tactics mwwww hahahahahaha:evil:

I'd like to see Ra's Al Ghul and Talia take on the League. Similar to the events in "Tower of Babel...." but Timm style.

I had an odd thought. Supose Terry found out about Bruce siging "Am I Blue?" I wonder what his reaction would be. If he laughs, he'd better be careful 'cause Bruce can still whale on him with that cane.

Even if a Justice League history hadn't been mapped out yet it had CERTAINLY been acknowledged or at least thought about. Remember the aborted Fourth season of Superman TAS was supposed to be about the forming of the league.

Both good points, plus BT and Co. have done a good job trying to squeeze in as much continuity as they can. I still think that the Return of the Joker flashback should happen soon, and not being able to use to Joker is the pefect reason to let him die off.

but as long as they have that stupid (THE BATMAN)

On a related note, it could also explain why Booster Gold thinks Darkseid is alive too, even though we pretty much saw him die and his survivial hasn't been confirmed in JLU yet.

I doubt we'll see any indication of ROTJ flashback regardless, but still as far as we know "The Once and the Future Thing" may erase it from existence

Dunno if they would erase the Batman Beyond era as a whole
