View Full Version : "WWE Armageddon" Prediction Thread

Kippy
12-11-2004, 06:52 PM
The Penguin will probably show up later tonight, but I'll save him some trouble and start the predictions thread now so that everybody will have plenty of time to make their picks.

Predictions must be made prior to the start of the event Sunday, which is at 8 p.m. EST and posts cannot be edited after that time.

If you refuse to pick on principle, I have no clue who you want, or you just plain miss it; you will get it wrong. As of Saturday, Armageddon had 7 scheduled matches and everyone's total will be out of 7. If say, you don't pick a winner in the match between Dawn Marie and Miss Jackie, you will get it wrong. Make sense? Fantastic.

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki

Please remember this thread encompasses anything to do with predictions. Should you feel the need to tally up your score, "challenge" people or tell the story of the "match for the championship" that is going to fit in here, not the talkback thread for the event which will of course be posted Sunday.

Taker REALLY deserves a title.

RVD and Rey All Da Way!

Jesus and Carlito will work together, and somehow pull it out.

I bet you Haas IS cheating, and he'll work with dawn.

It'd be so dumb if Show beats 3 people.

If it's real, despite how much I love Mizanin, Puder will slaughter him.

Funaki? WTF! Spike will win.

VCXZX

1. JBL Retains. He stays champ till Mania, when Cena beats him.

2. RVD/Mysterio retain.

3. Cena retains and will lose the belt to Charlie Haas.

4. Dawn Marie, after Haas turns heel.

5. Show wins.

6. Puder with a TKO.

7. spike retains. London will defeat Spike soon.

VCXZX, If JBL holds the title until Mania, I think I will go insane by then. Cena getting the title would be nice though.

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker>>>JBL. If for no other reason than house shows are advertising a JBL vs Booker T match.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki>>Rey and RVD retain even though I could see the heels winning since the faces won at Smackdown.

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool>>>Cena

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie>>No clue but I'm thinking Dawn Marie.

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak>>>Big Show.

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin>>>Puder "just as insane as the Warrior" Puder wins. Seriously check out his web commentary, the guy's rambling is on par with Hellwigs.

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki>>>Spike.
Looking at this PPV it's easy to see why I don't watch Smackdown at all. Looks like a really crappy show and I get the feeling my pics are just as crappy too.

12-12-2004, 12:50 AM
The Penguin will probably show up later tonight, but I'll save him some trouble and start the predictions thread now so that everybody will have plenty of time to make their picks. Thanks Kippy.

I always feel at a disadvantage with the SmackDown! events, since Mediacom hates South Dakota, but here goes nothing...

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker
JBL It will be cheap, it won't be fair, but JBL will manage to be the WWF Champion when this match is over.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki
RVD & Mysterio Man, since I don't get to see SD! in a timely manner I didn't even the belts had changed hands until just now. I'm gonna pick the champs and hope this puts Duprée back in the U.S. Title hunt and that he gets rid of that damn dog.

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool
Cena Jesus is making his debut and is just the goon for Carlito. He had better not be the U.S. Champion.

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie
Jackie This is at an end and I hope we get the real end rather than the evil swerve—for once.

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak
Can one man really beat three the caliber of Angle, Reigns & Jindrak? He can if this feud is going to somewhat be resolved, Big Show.

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin
Puder I like both these guys and I keep going back and forth on who to vote for, but unless they throw out some sort of a draw, Puder is going to beat the crap out of The Miz.

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki
Spike I just have a hard time believing they would put the belt on Funaki so "The Boss" keeps it.

Spike Mcdougal
12-12-2004, 01:26 AM
WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker

Winner: Booker T, on the grounds that he has not had the title that and JBL shooting his mouth off is becoming too much for me

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki

Winner: RVD & Rey, if they didnt then was there even a point to them winning on Smackdown

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool

Winner: Cena, after much inteference from Carlito

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie

Winner: Jackie, I havent cared about this aside from the constant catfights anyway

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak

Winner: Big Show

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin

Winner: Puder, For previously stated reasons

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki

Winner: Spike, As much as I want him to lose it aint gonna be to Funaki

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker
JBL The faces have been too powerful on Smackdown, so I smell a screwball victory for the champ here. And as frightening as it sounds, JBL might actually be champion until Mania XXI. :( Hopefully he'll lose soon, so that we can have a decent SmackDown main event at Mania, maybe something like Eddie vs Cena.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki
RVD & Mysterio For no reason other than the fact that I don't like Dupree and Suzuki as a tag team.

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool
Cena but he'll drop the belt soon cause he doesn't need it anymore.

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie
Dawn Marie Looks like Haas is turning heel.

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak
Big Show If there's one thing I've learned in all my years of watching WWE wrestling, it's that anything, however impossible, is possible.

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin
Puder I love Mike and I desperately want him to win this tough enough, but I can't ignore the fact that Puder is a UFC fighter and the Miz is not.

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki
Spike Hardest match to predict in my opinion. I'd like to believe that Funaki will surprise everyone and defeat spike for the title, but since he is an annoucer and not a full time wrestler anymore, I don't see it happening. Might be a close match though.

PaQ

Ok, this is going to be interesting. I haven't been able to follow Smackdown as much as I have RAW, so my decent showings at PPV's of late may take a hit. =(

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker
Winner: BOOKER T, he's due.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki
Winner: RVD & MYSTERIO, no other place for these two so they should stay on top.

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool
Winner: CENA, he dropped it to C3's ppv debut, I don't see that happening here.

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie
Winner: MISS JACKIE ;), hot hot hot..

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak
Winner: KURT ANGLE, LUTHER REIGNS & MARK JINDRAK, Kurt Angle finds a way to win.

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin
Winner: PUDER, I just want him to win.

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki
Winner: SPIKE DUDLEY, no one messes with the boss. o_o

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool (Cena, Jesus is a terrible worker)

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie (Hmm, you can go two ways. but since Charlie is engaged to Jackie in real-life, I say Jackie here)

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak (After the beat-down on Smackdown, I say Show)

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin (UFC vs. MTV. This is will be bad, but I say Puder here)

Okay. Now it's time to predict some winners for this PPV. Oh joy. Bad card. Oh well.

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker

Um.... JBL. Why? I dunno. Someway somehow he'll win. If not him #2 is Eddie but JBL all the way.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki

It would be kinda of dumb to give it back to Rene and Kenzo so Rey Rey and RVD.

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool

As much as I don't like him, Cena. He's been CCC's and Jesus' female dog too long. *looks at what she just typed* Well that was weird  .

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie

Why's everyone going with Dawn Marie? Miss Jackie will win. Why the WWE decided to make an angle about Charlie's and Jackie's personal life is hard to figure out. Maybe they thought the catfights would bring in ratings. Pssh.

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak

Wellllll, welll it's the Big Show. It's payback time!

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin

Puder. I wish it was Puder vs. Smith though. The Miz bites  .

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki

I'm probably throwing this away but... Funaki. They could at least give it to a real cruiserweight.

Kippy
12-12-2004, 05:34 PM
WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker

WINNER: JOHN "BRADSHAW" LAYFIELD. Why can't anybody beat Bradshaw?! I hate to say it, but it looks like he's going to retain the WWE Championship again. He just recently added Doug and Danny Basham to his Cabinet, and I don't know why they'd make his stable bigger if he's going to lose the title. JBL will win again probably by pinning Booker T.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki

WINNER: VAN DAM & MYSTERIO. RVD and Mysterio have completely dominated Duprée and Suzuki everytime these two teams have met in the ring. I don't see how the challengers can even be considered a threat at this point.

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool

WINNER: JOHN CENA. Cena is one of the most popular and dominant wrestlers on the roster while Jesus just got his "wrestling license" a few weeks ago. I just can't imagine Jesus doing much in this match. Cena will retain his championship tonight.

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie

WINNER: DAWN MARIE. The actual winner of this match is questionable, but the aftermath seems pretty predictable. I can't imagine that all of this buildup will amount to nothing. Haas will side with Dawn and hopefully will actually get to wrestle in some matches now.

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak

WINNER: ANGLE, REIGNS & JINDRAK. Angle's team has to win this match. How can they have any credibility if they lose a 3-on-1 handicap match? There may be a screwy ending so Big Show can still look strong, but Angle's team needs to pick up the victory here.

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin

WINNER: DANIEL PUDER. There isn't much to say about this one. Puder should be able to win it easily.

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki

WINNER: SPIKE DUDLEY. I don't think Spike's going to be the champion for too much longer, but I don't think Funaki's going to be the one to beat him. I guess they could have him get the surprise victory, but I'm guessing that like Nunzio he's going to get one shot on PPV and then go back to being forgotten.

Cruiserweight Championship
Champion Spike Dudley vs. Funaki
This one seems easy to call. I can't see Spike losing here, unless it's by interference. Should be a good match though, Funaki can really go when he wants to. WINNER: SPIKE DUDLEY

Charlie Haas as Special Guest Referee
Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie
Is this even really going to be a match? I get the feeling it's just an angle to set Haas up to have both women. If they do go through with a match, Dawn Marie will win with Charlie's help. They wouldn't set all this up for nothing, would they? WINNER: DAWN MARIE

Tough Enough Dixie Dog Fight
Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin
Puder should destroy Mizanin, unless they have it really fixed. Good for Daniel, I want him to win. WINNER: DANIEL PUDER

3-on-1 Handicap Match
Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak
Have to go with Angle's team. Big Show will look strong, but hopefully Kurt will get the pinfall. How many PPV's in a row has Kurt Angle lost at now? He needs this to get back up. WINNERS: ANGLE, REIGNS, JINDRAK

WWE Tag Team Championship
Champions Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki
Since the title just changed hands on Smackdown (killing all the heat for the PPV match), there's no reason to switch back here. RVD and Rey keep the belts tonight. WINNERS: ROB VAN DAM & REY MYSTERIO

United States Championship - Street Fight
Champion John Cena vs. Jesus with Carlito Caribbean Cool
Yawn. With Jesus injuring himself at a house show, I can't see them putting the belt on him. Of course, I still don't understand why they put the belt on Cena if he's still filming his stupid movie. What's the point in having a belt if you can't defend it? Cena will go over here, since they need something positive before the main event. WINNER: JOHN CENA

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way
Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Booker T vs. The Undertaker
And the crap keeps on rolling. In a perfect world, Eddie or Booker T would walk out with the strap and Undertaker would just retire. That won't happen. Instead Eddie and Booker will fight and cost each other, JBL will sneak in and get a cheap pinfall to keep his streak going, and Undertaker will dominate most of the match and not sell anybody's moves (and there's a good chance his intro/ring-walk will last longer than the actual match). I hope I'm wrong, but.... WINNER: JBL

Twenty-two people made predictions for Armageddon, the same turnout we got last month for Survivor Series. Our overall prediction rate is now 69%, an increase of nine percentage points from last time. This is the highest it has been since Backlash earlier this year.

---------------

Here he is, the new Intercontinental Championship...

Majin_Megabyte (75%)

This is the first time Majin_Megabyte has ever won the Intercontinental Championship. This is also the first time a reigning World Heavyweight Champion has won the Intercontinental Championship. This should tell you how strong Majin_Megabyte's performance has been recently, but the new number one contender cannot be overlooked. Dirtbag has quickly been climbing up the standings, and he now poses a serious threat to the new champion.

Top Contenders
1. Dirtbag (73%)
2. The Dork Knight (71%)

7. Robin2099 (65%)
8. Boy Wonder (64%)
9. Spontaneous Mike (63%)

---------------

He is still your World Heavyweight Champion...

Majin_Megabyte!!! (119)

It was a close call last time, but Majin_Megabyte has now built a small lead over the rest of the competition. The only question is if it will be enough. Six challengers now have over one hundred points. Any of them could make a leap to the top, but none may pose a bigger threat than the new number one contender, Dirtbag. With a strong performance this month, Dirtbag was able to jump from number five all the way to number one in the standings. He is now easily the greatest challenger to both of Majin_Megabyte's titles. It looks like there's going to be a real slobberknocker next time at New Year's Revolution!

Thanks once again and be sure to return next month for New Year's Revolution!

The Intercontinental Title Champion is decided by a calculating who has the highest percentage of correct guesses over the three most recent pay-per-views. The Heavyweight Title score awards points for correct guesses (no penalty for wrong guesses) for the six most recent pay-per-views. The points system for the heavyweight title is weighted such that more recent pay-per-views are worth more points. Click here (http://www.rit.edu/%7Emdk8894/toonzone/armageddon04.xls) to view the spreadsheet used to make these calculations. Please, please check my work!

Finished the year at 58% and barely clinging to a title shot........

That's it!!!!

The real quest for the gold begins January 9. I dont care who I mow over Majin_Megabyte, Spontaneous Mike, Penguin, whoever. Sometime in 2005 I will win both those titles!!!

Spikey, lets face it, you don't have what it takes to become champion. You can barely make it into the top ten as it is! HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

I, on the other hand, am poised to reclaim my world heavyweight title by New Years Revolution!
