Gah, I'm not a fan of magic, so I hope magic is auxillary to the team, like how MMPR S3 were teenagers first, Ninjas second.

... damn, we're getting Power Rangers: Mystic Warriors in 2006, aren't we?

... crap, I'm already missing Dekaranger. Or as I like to call it, "Super Sentai COPS"

I have to hand it to them that those are some of the best looking zords I've ever seen, but those shoulder shield they got look like crap.

This looks pretty cool. I like the idea of doing a season based around magic. If you want to get technical, magic was part of PR since the beginning (Rita Repulsa was a witch, after all). I tend to like the "animal" ranger seasons more than the "vehicle" ones. I just don't care much for car or spaceship zords. Though, judging from the appearances of the zords in this one, I'm not sure what I'd classify this as.

I take it I'm the only one that likes the caps? It looks kinda cool, like paying homage to Goranger since this is the 30th anniversary for the show. I'm still not quite fond of having the rangers themselves become the zords, and the 16year old red ranger? O.0 The hell? Isn't that to young for lead ranger? The oldest is yellow and he is only 19.

What, can you read Japanese or something? I'm not seeing anything that gives ages or states that the Rangers become the Zords.

Ryoutarou
12-11-2004, 08:56 PM
Not 30th season, 30th year. 75-05. Anyways, the rangers age and all have been said in press statments before:

-An enemy ranger appears, who is on the side of evil. He is called "Uruzado", and an anti-vector design, even though he still has the helmet and visor of a ranger. His color scheme is dark blue and black.

-This evil ranger can also grow large, but when he does, he unites with a giant mechanized horse, KingBrachion style, and becomes a Kentaurus of sorts. This robo is called "UrKaizer".

NEW INFO:

-The mecha setup is a bit like BullBlack, but not really. The rangers are transformed into mecha. Think of it as a mix of Muteki Shogun and Bull Black.

-The Mecha are:

MagiRed- MagiPhoenix
MagiBlue- MagiMermaid
MagiYellow- MagiGaruda
MagiPink- MagiFairy
MagiGreen- MagiTaurus

MagiPhoenix is the core of MagiKing, much like RyuuSeiOh of DairenOh. When Uruzado grows large, he is the same size as MagiPhoenix, and so he is the core of UrKaizer.

Vehicle Info:

All 5 of the Magiranger get SkyHouki. SkyHouki are streamlined motorbikes, much like the JetSliger of Faiz

Ranger age:
MagiRed: 16
MagiGreen:19
MagiBlue:17
MagiPink:18
MagiYellow:19

And heres that picture of the rumored actor for MagiRed:

LOL! Nice one!

So, they're actually wearing capes? I thought those were some kind of busted shoulder gear or something.

I never really like it when they use cell phone looking morphers. Looks dumb x.x
Am I the only one who doesn't like the look of the zords?

Chad Bonin
12-12-2004, 10:22 PM
The costumes are very... busy. And I'll have to see how long the capes are before I judge them (I'm not against extraneous fabric on the suits [love the fact that Wind Ninja Blue had a skirt] but only when it works correctly [DinoThunder Yellow's skirt seems pointless]). If they're at least waist-length, fine. If they're barely halfway down the back, they're pointless.

And this is, what, the second cell phone morpher? The SPD Delta Morphers are cell phones second, badge first.

Look at the SPD uniforms. You can make out the number, but the rest is very simple, outside of the sirens on the side of the helmet. SPD upgrades the Dekaranger suits by having the helmets retractable, but that seems good in toy form.

And the DinoThunder uniforms were VERY simple.

Duke

And this is, what, the second cell phone morpher? The SPD Delta Morphers are cell phones second, badge first.
Zhane's Morpher was a cell too.

The only Zords I like are the Red & Blue. The bird head on Yellow's just doesn't look right. Pink's looks like an afterthought, and the bull head doesn't look right on greens. And I personally think the wizard's hat looks downright stupid.

The costumes are decent, I guess. I can't really finger it, but they just rub me the wrong way.

Damn, the Rangers turn into the Zords? I was gonna have that in one my PR stories...

Ryoutarou
12-13-2004, 11:22 AM
Meh...at least it wasn't as bad as the first rumor. Where the rangers just grew to Ultraman size ^^; Corny for sentai if you ask me.

Chad Bonin
12-13-2004, 11:42 AM
Well, I never liked how Magna Defender grew to become his Zord....

Maybe PR will take the Battle Borgs route, and have them be piloted from the ground via telepathy.

I like the designs, especially the helmets.

Ryoutarou
12-13-2004, 11:51 AM
Ya, blue and pink are the female rangers of this season. I don't think it'd become them using ESP, just to many toy chances being passed up...and we all know that'll ne er get passed up in favor of better story.

Chad Bonin
12-13-2004, 12:00 PM
Oh, I'm sure we'll get the "Zord Morphin'" figures no matter what in 2006, even if they are remote piloting the Zords.

- -; Just...I don't like the suits at all. The visors are so messed up. they look way too diffrent then what they should. The colors seem way to "dark" to me for some reason. Red is about the only that looks anywhere near good...and thats because he has that sword.

Chad Bonin
12-21-2004, 01:58 PM
I'm still undecided on the uniforms.

The capes are a decent length, which is good. But, I'm not a fan of the "M" lines going all the way down the front of the suit. The DinoThunders had something like that with the diamonds, but those were down the side.

Huh. It didn't register to me earlier, but this will be Power Rangers' third male Yellow Ranger and second female Blue Ranger.

Always good to shake things up for fresher ideas :D

HMMM, I have discovered some not-so-hidden patterns that have led to me formulating some theories. I call this one "shoujoaifan's Kick-Ass Theory of Cardboard Robotics-ness". BEHOLD!

"shoujoaifan's Kick-Ass Theory of Cardboard Robotics-ness" dictates that:

1. ...in Gao/WS we had a TON of mechas/zords.

2. ...in Hurricanger/NS we had 1 per ranger (minus spares :p ) with gimick weapons to "make-up" for fewer mechas/zords.

3. ...in Aba/DT no gimick weapons, but ALOT of mechas/zords (but NOT the overload in Gao thankfully.)

4. ...in Deka/SPD fewer mechas/zords, but ALOT of rangers :D

5. ...in Magi? According to the theory (the pattern's NOT a bad idea from the japanese company), we should be getting ALOT of zords. BUT the rangers BECOME their mechas/zords (sweet!).

PERHAPS we'll get alot of auxillary mechas/zords that combine with them, maybe even separately. The rangers themsleves combine to form a Megazord, but perhpas they form their own Megazords or something.

OR we go back to gimick weapons-but we already have the wands. ALTHOUGH they could lead to a host of spells, and its not like the companies really made money of the toy mechas/zords weapons, those were included in the toys. They were a way to spice up Hurricanger/NS and the following toys so kids would be interested.

But wait! There's my 2nd theory, which I call "Dr.shoujoaifan's Super Kick-Ass Theory of Mighty Spandex Numerals." BEHOLD!

According to "shoujoaifan's Super Kick-Ass Theory of Mighty Spandex Numerals":

1. ...due to Gao/WS, when we got Hurri/NS, we not only did we get a sharp decrease in mechas/zords, due to poor sales and backlash, we got fewer rangers to show the viewers that Sentai/PR was revamped. But to keep things from getting TOO different that fickle kids and fans wouldn't lose interest, we got back up to 6 rangers afterall.

2. ...in Aba we got only 5 rangers. BUT we got Red's other form, which was grossly over-powered enough for a whole team anyway.

3. ...in DT Red got a Battalizer, meaing him the most over-powered ranger, EVER! We DARE him to fight Goky so we could bet on him! And we got a 6th ranger, but was a clone of White to make the footage makes sense. But he got a fine farwell ep, plus it brought us the Morphin' Grid again! AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING, HUZZAHING, AND GIVING OF BASE ALL AROUND!!!

4. ...in Deka we got/getting 9/10 rangers (depends if the movie counts, if Gold shows up in the show, or someone else entirely.) In SPD?...

5. There is much discussing as to who the PR messiah is, White Ranger Tommy, Battalized Red Ranger Connor, or Kendrix, resurrected Pink Ranger.

Do you not see the logic of the theories of the patterns of the good doctor?

Chad Bonin
12-23-2004, 02:10 PM
5. There is much discussing as to who the PR messiah is, White Ranger Tommy, Battalized Red Ranger Connor, or Kendrix, resurrected Pink Ranger. Con't forget Ryan "Titanium Ranger" Mitchell.

Reportedly died as a child, raised by supernatural forces, and morphed into a silver being that no normal human could become.

Plus, he managed to have Sentai footage, despite not being in Go Go V.

Plus, he managed to have Sentai footage, despite not being in Go Go V.

How he managed that? Or was it the mecha/zord footage of one of the other Robo's/Megazord's the sentai rangers used but in PR Ryan used? Heh, reminds me of all the talk about making the Triassic Ranger a separate character.

The capes are all right in the standing shot, although they may not transition well in action. It may end up looking like Spidey's armpit webs in the older comics when his arms weren't stretched :p I'm trying to be open minded, ignoring the fact that capes are a nuisance in battle-the-death battles, since spandex wouldn't do much protection anyway  They actually look too short, but then it would be riduclously hard to shoot then.

Heh, Robo/Megazord wearing a wizard's hat. This is one of those cheesy moments where its just SO wrong, yet so RIGHT, like, I don't know, a giant robot or something...

Look at the Lightspeed Rescue intro with Ryan as part of the cast. The following shots of him flipping and firing in the night cityline... filmed in Japan. You can tell just by the film footage.

Now, technically it's not sentai footage, but test footage from Toei to show how the Titanium Ranger would look.

I've always liked it when the rangers had zords that could tranform into humanoid modes and do battle seperately (Super Zeo zords, Rescue zords, Red Dragon zord from MMPR s3), so this is a welcomed gift. Having the rangers actually becoming the zords is a surprise. I wonder if any of them will be killed or seriously injured when the big boss turning point/upgrade event takes place.

I'm diggin the capes. Kinda reminds me of Robin from the 60's Batman because of the short length. Helmet designs are nice and vastly improved from Dekaranger. I've never been found of the silver mouth pieces on the helmets. Judging from the designs it looks like there will be a phoenix, a bull, a butterfly, a swan(?), but I can't make out yellow's.

Hopefully bittorent will still be around by the time the show airs so I can get some sneak previews of the show.

Really? I always thought that was American footage, but since it was shot at night, it looked almost as grainy as the normal sentai stuff shot in Japan at the time.

I like the silver mouthpieces, but not when the actual mouths are on them. Space mouthplates were the best.

I don't like it when their costumes consist of the base color and black. I always liked how the base color and white combo looked better. That's why Dekaranger's suits bugged me. Not to mention these costumes have tacky gold trims on the black, funky shields and those goofy tiny capes. It's just too much ugly combined into one design. Yes, the visors look cool, but the rest of the suit is a visual trainwreck.
