From what I read in the Entertainment Weekly article (which I am confident most of you already have! I am usually the last to know when it comes to EW news!) they WILL be getting away from the villian of the week story lines of Smallville! FINALLY! They were just using those characters for the first six episodes or so to establish somethings about Clark and his powers. We will get to see him use his powers in future episodes for other needs, such as corrupt cops (should be interesting! Will we see him get shot at?) and natural disasters.
Now, this could pose a problem. At the end of most of his encounters with the kryptonite enhanced villains, they pretty much died and there was no risk of Clark's secret being revealed. Well, he won't be able to kill EVERYBODY who sees him in action, so I wonder what the result of his run in with those police will be? And with the natural disasters? Should make for more interesting episodes.
Also, according to the article, Clark will take a renewed interest in that space ship in the barn at the END of this season! At the END! Heck, forget that! If I found out there was an alien vessel in my barn, I would SO be all over that in a heart beat. Forget anything else! I wonder why they are putting that off?
