I'd like to see it happen (the sexy purple haired version). Besides the Cheetah, Wonder Woman needs more of her old villains dusted off and used. Her ability to turn men into beasts would be an asset vs. the mostly male League members (Flash would go quick).

I too, would like to see Circe, but not with the purple hair. She looked better with the red hair and cloak!

Maybe someone could fill me in.....who is Circe? I know she's a character from The Odyssey, but when was she ever in JL?

She is an old Silver Age WW villian that had her Herbs of immortality destroyed by WW. She's bitter, and turns sailors into Man-Beasts.

All I know about the red-haired version (from an 80's comic), is that she teamed up with Two-Face and stole an Egyptian Pharoah's mask which (somehow) gave Two-Face the ability to look fully like either Harvey Dent or the monster he'd become. He chose the scarred side, and his entire face went freaky. He then placed the mask on Circe, and her face went very decrepid and nasty. Batman, Catwoman and Robin interveined and stopped the madness. It was a really wierd issue. All I know about the purple haired version is what I read in Ty and Delaney's "How to Draw Wonder Woman" and an issue of "The Batman/Superman Magazine". From there I learned that she is a sorceress, somehow linked to the Gods and she has an extreme dislike for men.

I think that the current version (the purple-haired one) is the enchantress from Greek myth. She nurses a grudge against Wonder Woman; which has led her to involvement with Lex Luthor's Injustice Gang in the current JLA series.

Her current incarnation has the ability to turn men into beasts; plus she's well versed in psychology (which she uses to further mess with your mind).

Am I missing anything?

I believe this character was named "Circe," but had no connection to the Wonder Woman villain. I think these stories were also pre-Crisis/_Batman Year One_, so officially they never happened. In the current comics continuity, Catwoman never had that purple and green costume and hasn't become an official member of Batman's Scooby Gang against crime, as she was in the 80's.
