^Got that from a translation on Serebii's message board. This might somehow play in with the DS feature of the movie. Still, I'm amazed that they choose to feature mew as the title pokemon and not something new.

Myself, I'd like to see a "Pokemon Future". Take the show and all the characters and move 20-30 years into the future. Make Ash a gym leader or that damn "master" he's been fawning about forever. Get us a new group, some new faces. Kind of what Gold & Silver attempted to set up, but in animated form.

I get the feeling the reason why Ho-Oh hasn't appeared is because of what it symbolizes, that it believes in Ash and all that stuff. I think Tajiri is still trying to find a story good enough for the special moment.

Or he's waiting until the end of the series.

I was kinda hoping the movie would have the Regis in it. Still, after Mew's puzzling disappearence in Mewtwo Returns, this is welcome.

Yea, even though Colloseum is old now. Maybe the next series will deal with the new GCN game that's being made? The Orre stuff will probably be an OAV or mini-series. The big question is if Ash/May/Brock/Misty/Max will appear, and at what age.

BTW, the movie's retitled "Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero - Rukario" with Rukario being the name of the new Pokemon(the sillhouette). It's assumed that Rukario is the "Wave Guiding Hero".

And to think that most of us thought Mew was the only legendary that was going to appear in the movie...

The new Pokémon seems to be inspired by Anubis/Ra from Egyptian lore. It looks very dog-man-like.

Apparently that promo image is revealing something. I'm guessing that black whirlwind at the top of the volcano. I wonder where May is though, since Combusken is there.

Seems its name is Lucario when romanized, since its name backwords is pretty much the English word "oracle".

Okay, so now a lot of us are pretty sure this guy can take traits from two Pokémon and transform itself into some kind of hybrid of the two. What I'm wondering is if it could do this with all 500(?) Pokémon, with any two, or if they have to be fully evolved and share some kind of similarity, or something. Because, seriously, there's not really any similarity between Basharmo/Blaziken and Mew...

Imagine what a pain it'll be if GAME FREAK has to make sprite after sprite of Lucario's different potential forms! And imagine how lame it'll be if they're just two halves of two different sprites put together, heh.

This makes me thing there's going to be some kind of "oracle" in the eighth movie, and perhaps some kind of promotional "oracle" thing in Diamond and Pearl with Lucario, too. Think Rainbow Ticket.

Manyura has me thinking of a [much-needed] evolution for Monjala/Tangela, but it's a stretch.

Manyura could also be an evolution for Neula/Sneasel, and if that's the case, I'd romanize it as "Maneula" for personal use, but anyways -- I wonder if an evolution would give it a much-needed boost in Special Attack.

As for the eighth movie itself, I'm guessing there'll be some kind of oracle (Lucario) that the Regi, along with Mew, and Satoshi, and his Pokemon, will need to protect. I'm sure it's much more complex than now, but this is all we'll know until the next Coro Coro.

Stereotypical medieval/D&D clothing. Ash's in a varient of a wizards garb, May's in a dress fitting a lady of a royal court, Pikachu's a jester, Max either a page or squire, and Brock's a monk/friar/cleric...

Remember, the director did hint on the sword/sorcery stuff earlier... we just didn't know how much of those type of elements would be in the movie.

Rukario loooks nothing like Mew or Mewtwo. HA! I told people in various places that Rukario wasn't Mewthree, but did they listen? Nooooo.

-Mew transformed into Ho-oh? Well...Ho-oh is SORT of getting a movie appearance...
-What is it with Pikachu and falling off of things in the movie trailers?
-It appears that Mew and Rukario may be enemies. Interesting...
-"Tree of Origin"? That sounds like a bad...homage? parody? referance?...to the Cave of Origin(unless it(the Cave) is called something completely different in the JP version, in which case ignore this point...).

Well Mew does learn "Transform" in the games, so maybe that will be reflected with the Ho-oh turning into Mew thing?

Anime Otaku: "Mezame no Hokora" means Cave of Origin/Cave of Awakening, so it's a direct translation. :)

CyberCubed: Yeah, Mew learns Transform at Level 10, so it's definitely Transform.

The third movie trailer had Mewtwo, Pokémon being crystalized, and Ash on top of a crystal point while flames rage around him. The last movie had Plusle & Minun running across a glass surface, them facing Rayquaza, and Ash & May teaming up in a double battle.

I'd wager half the stuff in this trailer will make it to the final print.

While yes, the gang's new costumes look cool, check out the Pokémon! They've all got weird markings and stuff on them, which makes it look pretty cool. The one Charizard looks kinda like Mewtwo's clone Charizard.

Also, did anyone else chuckle when they mentioned "Red & Green" armor and battling in a "Colloseum"? :anime:

... I'm gonna be miffed if the Ho-Oh that's been following Ash all this time turns out to be Mew in disguise.

The Regis are still featured, which is good. They're not going the way of Mewtwo in Movie 3.

The more and more I see the promo material, the more and more I get excited. Here's hoping this is the battle epic Deoxys should've been. (We haven't had a really awesome battle since Movie 3.)

Lesse, Sneasel's got an evolution (here's hoping whoever gave Sneasel its original stats was smacked on the head so the evolution will have better stats), Sudowoodo apparently has a pre-evolution, and the other Pokémon looks like a cross between Banette and Castform.

And the more I see these costumes, the more I wish they wore them throughout the movie.

I gave news of this back in the "UK: Pokemon Chronicles Talkback" thread, I watched both the teaser & theatrical trailer, I have grown out of the Pokemon movies but this looks like the best Pokemon movie set to be distubuted out of Warner Bros. Pictures (the movies are distrubuted by Miramax Pictures/Buena Vista International in the US/UK, you see).

I'd expect any scenes of Ash getting hurt to not be in the final movie.

The 7th movie trailer had a scene of Rayquaza firing a Hyper beam at Ash and Pikachu...which wasn't in the movie. :/

The 7th trailer also had vairous scenes of Ash hurt or burnt that weren't in the movie either.

I expect all the cool scenes in this trailer not to be in the final movie, because they love teasing us with good scenes that never happen.
