So, I've been scribbling in a sketchbook as of late. After getting some advice from a gifted friend of mind (http://www.karlrolson.com/tsubasa) on how to trace and layer stuff in Photoshop, I decided to take one of my sketches (http://www.karlrolson.com/images/karlart/sketchb2el.jpg), trace over it in Photoshop and color it:

After 4 hours or so of work in Photoshop, I figure I've either got a long way to go, or I should throw in the towel. Ah well, I suppose I've atleast got a new appreciation for this kind of work, and a new respect for the people who do it well. :)

Looks good to me, you've done a very nice job with the colouring and as you say its provided you with an insight to how much fun experimenting with art applications can be. As far as how long it should take goes, well there is of course no answer, you will certainly speed up your technique through practice but also refine it too by trying different effects, its takes as long as it for you to be happy with it :)

I hope you continue playing about on PS and it would be great to see what else you come up with
