Expert help needed for girl with no comic book experience

Can any experts out there help me? I have very little information, but perhaps something will ring a bell.

I am trying to find a comic book for a family member. This comic book features a supercomputer that was built at MIT (this is mentioned quite specifically--MIT). I believe it's a late 70s early 80s major superhero kind of thing--maybe Fantastic Four, Avengers, something like that. I know this is not much, but maybe . . . just maybe . . . .someone will know what this is.

Hm - this is an era I am a fan of, but nothing is coming to mind immediately. I'll give it some thought though...maybe a quick look through the collection later on will spur my memory. :-)

With no disrespect meant to the forum in general (or the members of the forum,) this particular board may not be the place you would want to ask. There are only a few people whose comic book background extend very far into the past; I should note that my own historical background is severely limited as I only started collecting about 7 or 8 years ago now and have not built a terribly impressive collection.

I would suggest that you ask your question at a more "hardcore" comic book website. Try the boards at http://www.comicbookresources.com, a site which has many more strictly comic book related forums and experts.

Once again, I am reiterating that this was not meant as a knock against TZ dwellers, and indeed, some may actually be able to answer your question. I just happen to think that you'd get an answer faster at the other board.

That's not a whole lot to go on. Off the top of my head, the only book I can possibly link to is Spitfire and the Troubleshooters, which was a comic that debuted in the early 80's as part of Marvel's "New Universe," since they made a point of mentioning (often) that the lead character was a professor at MIT. No supercomputer, but she was in a giant robot battlesuit (the Spitfire) and had a bunch of graduate students who pulled pranks and helped her fight crime.
