You know, for such a basic and commonplace animal, lizards seem quite rare in animation. They're never main characters...perhaps due to a lack of major distinguishing features (like a turtle's shell)....though frilled dragons seem to be one of the basic cartoon animals in Australia (I remember more than three or four australian cartoons prominently featuring one)

How about Whiplash from He-Man and I also think that Patty or Selma from the simpsons had a pet lizard. Plus there is that one episode where Bart raised a bunch of flying lizards that infested Springfeild. That is all I can think of.
