does anyone around here use this awesome site? unfortunatly my school, the University of Missouri St. Louis, isnt on there (if anyone wants to help me request that it be, please click on the "contact" button at the bottom of their front page, and enter it into the proper field when it comes up!)

anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else used it and whether they thought it was cool or not. I find it VERY cool, and seethe with jealously every time one of my friends from Mizzou shows me his or her extended friend web. its pretty cool to see your social web layed out!

Just about everyone I know in my age group uses this thing. I went to a party Friday night where The Facebook was a topic of discussion, and I was urged to try it out. I just might, at this point. It certainly sounds intriguing.

Basically everyone I know here at USC (California, that is, not South Carolina) uses it...including myself. It's addictive....

Can someone tell me what the fad is with this site? My sister has it and many of my younger aged friends have this. I made an account cuz I think my sister wanted someone else to put on her friends list. I don't have any friends at school that use it and I don't really get what the site is all about.

My school is not listed and I have never once heard of this thing until now. I don't get how it works. Can someone explain it better?

I have it and being interested in Sociology... I absolutely love it! :anime: I love the "Visualize my Friends" option as well.

As to what the Facebook is, it's basically an online community that only colleges on the program can use. You must have an email address from one of those colleges to join. Then you create a profile. It's all free and it's that simple.

Then, you can browse people on your campus and look at their profiles. You can also join groups that have similiar interests, again only on your campus.

You can search for your High School buddies and for kids from other schools. However, you can't see their profiles unless they are on your friend list. So at least it keeps up some sense of privacy.

I just want more of my friends on it, as I want a much more tangled web. :anime:

I was just thinking the groups with similar interests thing could actually help me in the socializing department. And I need serious help with that. Quiet thing that I am. :o
