Anyone close to or in NYC interested in going to see the tree in a group? Maybe grab some pizza or something after?

It will also be pathetic asking my parents if I can go since I'm 20.

You should so do this! You just have to make sure John Crition is there so he can take 100's of pics for the Photo Album. No this will need it's own album! I would come but we couldn't put those kind of photos on this site. ;)

December is at the moment a pretty open month for me except for the second weekend of the month when I'll be out of state. Friday would probably be the best night for me (Because everything is about me) but I can make time any day of the week really. I'm flexable and really don't have to worry about school anymore so... yah.

Best Times For Me...
Friday 3:00-1:00
Saturday 1:00-1:00
Sunday 1:00-10:00
Moday-Thursday 3:00-9:00 or 10:00

I really hope that this thing gets done, I love meeting new people.

I think the lighting is the 30th (This Tuesday). Of course seeing the tree doesn't mean seeing the lighting.Your right. Since the lighting was coming up I assumed that was what was being meant.

Times that work for me are as follows:
Monday is no good
Tuesday and Thursday from 9am - 1:30pm [That way I can just walk to school]
Wednesday is iffy but doable depending on what times people like.
Friday is out since I have morning -- night classes.
Weekends are out for the time being but a Saturday might work if things clear up.

Sounds intriguing. Maybe if I can get my grandmother to take me back to the Bronx with her when her holiday visit ends in a few days, I'd be in perfect striking distance.

Don't think I can really do it though. I've got a bit too much on my plate right now.

Hey, I never said I wanted to visit LaGuardia. Just fly in, possibly. :p

I've had a few connecting flights up there from my former New England days. It's not so bad as airports go. Not good, but not the worst.

I'd suggest that the few local atlantians go see the Lights at Life some evening. But they're not doing it this year!!! bwaaahhahahaa!! http://img25.photobucket.com/albums/v76/guinaevere/smilies/sad_green.gif And it's tougher for some of the kids to get around from the atlanta burbs. Marta (local transit) only goes to so many places.

La Guardia H.S. class of 2005! w00t. The airport sucks but my school rules! You go to La Guardia? Wah! I always wanted to go there! I ended up going to a high school in the projects [was that better my dear parents!?]. My Favorite teacher from Junior High even transfered to La Guardia to become a counselor. Can't remember her name for some reason. Last I remember she's short, blonde, cheery, and all the guys and gals agree she's cute. Sound familiar?

And I will not forget my camera for this! I will even bring tons of batteries for my battery-sucking camera. I will probably get confused looking around for all who are coming.

Which remeinds me. Everyone can get to trains like the N, R, F, and V okay? What part of December does everyone think is better? Where exactly are we meeting? We exchanging pictures? Holding signs? :p

I'm actually just going to take the Q and walk from 42nd street, I'll probably stop off at few other places before I go to RC.

What part of December does everyone think is better?
For me, this week would be because I know I have no plans.

Holding signs?
I won't be hard to miss, I'll be wearing a Superman t-shirt, black winter coat, Mets cap, and a silk Vietnamese jacket. I'll probably be reading a comic book.

I second that.

I can't really go to NYC without asking my parents. And being with people I knew only from the internet...no no no. They're NOT going to let me.

I can't be in NYC alone and I can't be there without members of my family being with me and my sister.

So I can't go...even though it's one bus ride and one train ride away.

Hopefully that gives those concerned with getting home before it gets too late enough time to do so.No. The fourth is very bad for me. It's one of my family's birthday and they would be crushed if I left to go out and not spend time with her. She's very old. It's not like I could bring her along. Maybe the saturday after? The time, 3pm, sounds fine though.

Where exactly at R. Center would be a good spot though? By the rink? The Pokemon store?

I wish I could go.:( I live in Staten Island, but I have absolutely no one to get me there and back.:( Another problem is my health and the cold weather; I still haven't gotten my flu shot yet.:( The other problem is my paranoid mother--she's still worried to death about me going there on my own even though I'm 32.:(

Oh, well. Enjoy yourselves everyone. It's better for me to see it on TV anywho. However, I'd still do almost anything to go to Manhattan a.k.a. "The City" on my own again. Even if I had to give away my soul to my pastor, seriously.:( :crying:

I'm trying to think of an area that'll be not as crowded. Some place where we might actually be able to spot each other. I'm pretty sure across the street from Radio City is best (49th or 50th St.), where the fountains are. I used to work in that area and if memory serves, less people usually walk through there.

I'll scout it out a little later this week to see if that's a good place or not. (If nothing else, the N,R,D,F,1 and 9 trains are all pretty close to that area.)

AARGH why couldn't we have a meeting when I was in New York in August? I can't easily make a THIRD NYC trip within a year!

It doesn't really make a difference since LaGaurdia is an evil evil place that you should never visit. What's so bad about La Guardia? I've been there and it's not as horrid as everyone says it is. Sure, it's not decked out or up to date, but it certainly isn't a hell hole. ;)

The 11th is definitely the date! My apologies to any who cannot make this gathering, there will be others. I'll send out PMs on Monday to those who expressed interest and get the details out of the way, like how to find each other.

As always, use discretion when meeting internet people. There are a lot of socially defuct perverts and sociopaths out there. Old men picking up 14 year old girls just isn't cool.

I'm weird, but if you can deal with my towel cape, we'll get along just fine.

35 degrees fahrenheit is something like 1.67 degrees celsius and 274.8 in Kelvin.
