Favorite Azumanga character

My favorite Azumanga character is Osaka. She's so airheaded.
My second favorite is Miss Yukari. It would be awesome if she was my teacher.

I like them all, but I have to pick Osaka as my favorite. Her cute haunted cafe idea for the second culture fest, too good to spoil, and her scary stories put her over the top. She also reminds me of myself, being a weirdo airhead and all.

I also especially love Miss Sakaki and her admirer Kaorin, Chiyo-Chan's cuteness and Tomo's insanity.

Really, I like all the characters, as Azumanga Daioh is very much an ensemble show where each character has a unique personality that contributes different comedy to the whole.

But if I had to pick favorites... I love Tomo's manic energy and her constant annoyance of Yomi (it was great when Yomi gets the upper hand, too, like many times in Volume 6). Yukari has provided many laughs, like her "Today is a summer service day" chanting, tagging along with the girl group, the Yukari mobile, her attitude on first/last days of class, etc.

Osaka.. she's such anairhead, thinks about the most random things, she's terrible at sports, and daydreams more than anyone I know, so she's me in anime/manga form.

The second bieng Yomi, for all of her sarcastic comments, wieght issues, and of course her short temper, which granted with a friend like Tomo is to be expected, and understood.

Osaka seems to be doing quite well. It's true that she is the funniest character, though Yukari is pretty consistently great as well.

My first impulse when I saw the first episode was Miss Sakaki since she's so mysterious, unique, and pretty hot. The more I watched, though, the more Osaka grew on me. She's my favorite brand of airhead: The airhead who fancies themself a philosopher. I'm not sure if I've seen that in a show before.
