Hawkgirl's powers

Ok...I'm confused. Hawkgirl can fly and talk to birds, and she has that cool mace...but does she have some kind of low level super strength or stamina? I mean...she got tossed through a couple of walls, thick ones, and it didn't really faze her. She just got up and growled.

When was it said that she could talk to birds? Or I'm I just missing something from the comics?

I'd say that it's quite possible, due to her being an alien, that she's stronger than your average human, and a bit more durable but I wouldn't classify her as having super strength or stamina.

If you go to http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/jl/ and let the page load, you can look at each character's powers. For Hawkgirl, it lists flight and communication with birds. She must at least have some enhanced durability, in order to survive being smashed through walls. My guess is that you are right, she has some enhanced strength and durability but nowhere near the levels of teammates like Superman, Wonder Woman or even J'onn.

She's also a cop from Thanagar, which has never been a pleasant place to be in any of its comic book incarnations. That would presumably mean she has had combat training, which invariably includes lessons on how to take a hit and how to minimize damage from a fall. In fact, I'd expect that the latter would be of INCREDIBLE importance to cops who fly on a regular basis. Getting thrown through a wall would be kind of like that, only horizontal.

I still want to know if the wings are hers, or if they're the "Nth Metal" they used in the comics. Where's that Hawkgirl episode where we get explanations for all this, and then debate them endlessly here??!!!? =8^).

You're right JT, Hawkgirl is strong, but nowhere near the levels of Superman. However, I think her mace is magically enhanced to amplify the power of her blows.

They don't flap when she's flying, so I think that they're made of Nth Metal.

Actually, during "In Blackest Night" there was a scene when she was flapping them...and it seemed like a few *feathers* fell off when she flapped.

The one thing he does with his own at that I love is that like with Vampirella or some other girls, he will draw them in nudes.
BUT with the Gotham Girls, he always preserves them in an at least half-way classy way by always having them clothed, and having no all-the-way nudity with them.
