Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy VI -- The epic, four-part final battle music. Nobody, including Nobuo Uematsu himself, has ever topped this.
Then there's also the ending theme from FF6, "Aria de Mezzo Carattere" from FF6 (which kicks Aeris' Theme's butt, by the way), "Terra" from FF6 (although I might prefer the version called "Awakening"), and... well, let's just say it'll take a while just to get past FF6 on the list of best game songs. I thought it was. The first Wild Arms came out right before Final Fantasy 7, so any press it got was instantly blown away by the Square giant. The sequels, which have little to do with the original game, aren't that good, but the original game is amazing and highly underrated. The music is the high point, and if you can get past the 2d overworld graphics and the simplistic 3d battle graphics, you will find a great RPG with a very classic feel.

[Classic Speedy]

Most every track from Aero the Acrobat is circus music or a remix of a circus song. That would drive a lot of people nuts, but I love that soundtrack, especially the SNES version, which almost sounds psychotic in the way it hammers the notes.

The main theme from Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is alternatingly orchestral and hard-hitting rock. If there were ever a game that got you pumped about playing it, this would be it.

Rock N Roll Racing takes a lot of famous rock songs and SNES-izes them. Like "Born to Be Wild" and "Bad to the Bone". They come through pretty darn good considering they took out all the lyrics.

The first level's theme for Super Double Dragon is catchy as heck. The second level, a remix of the original Double Dragon theme, isn't half bad either.

And Spiderman & the X-Men Arcade's Revenge has some of the best music on the SNES, period. The opening theme in particular is badass.

Anyway, I cant really name just one. The songs from the later Sonic games were pretty good though. "Open Your Heart" and "What I'm Made Of" were great songs and made the final boss battles more enjoyable.

Bowser's theme in Super Mario 64 was also great. And dont forget Spirit Temple from Ocarina of Time.
