More Bad News........

It seems like Naruto will air in September 2005 on the FOXBOX and it also seems like Shaman King, Sonic X and Cramp Twins might be leaving. Replacing these TV seris are: Spyro:The Dragon, Naruto and a new anime Beet Vandel Buster.

Bad News..........

It seems like 4Kids have ordered a couple of new TV Seris for 2005. One of them Being Naruto. naruto will air in Augest 2005 on FOX KIDS and proberly on YTV in November/December 2005. It also seems like that Some TV seris are leaving. I'll keep ypu posted.

This is almost believable other than it coming from tvTome. However I always assumed 4kids would want Beet for the Fox Box and while I've never heard of a Spryo series... if there was or will be one in the US then 4kids would have it.

The interesting thing is these were mentioned just recently and not on say April Fools day like before. NM the spelling errors...

I'm begining to fear the worst again and if 4kids did get Naruto then by golly I'd say we have not only them but ourselves to blame by constantly bringing it up and saying how they'd get it for whatever reasons. This of course would still suck so I really hope this isn't legit (and being on tvTome, it's not like I'd have to hope hard).

The only thing I find unsettling about that is the way he almost randomly brings up Beet the Vandel Buster which would imply that his "insider sources" is the first place he had heard about the series.

But hey, it's TV Tome. Until I hear something even remotely credible, my faith in capitalism is secure.

EDIT: Apparently he's listed http://spongebob2005 as his source.

Eh, I don't see anything to indicate that it is believable, and that's not even considering it is from TV Tome. To believe this we have to believe that the only person who is choosing to spill this information can't spell. They also throw in a Spyro series that no one has heard of before. While I guess its possible as the franchise is still going, the franchise isn't exactly as strong as it once was. Plus, while the "information" lists series that are coming and going from the Fox Box, it fails to mention anything about other Fox Box licenses we know are coming but have not started yet. Additionally, the person mentions FOX KIDS, a block which hasn't existed for years. Hopefully anyone who is old enough to remember Fox Kids could at least spell right at this point in life. Finally, the person lists no source for this information. If the person expects us to believe they are the source then they are doing a rather unprofessional job of presenting the information.

I call BS. Not saying it couldn't happen, but Naruto fans + TV Tome just screams that this news has no base in reality.

A Spyro cartoon seems unlikely, and it seems that something would've been anounced about it being in production by now. And besides, when's the last time you heard about an American made game series getting a cartoon? Especially considering what the Spyro franchise has gone through.

EDIT: Will brings some good points, too - the Fox Kids part does make me think that either a) this person is completely making stuff up or b) his "sources" are information about shows (Beet or Naruto) playing in other countries were the block is still called "Fox Kids."

EDITEDIT: And the "spongebob2005" bit sinches it as fiction for me.

Exactly. I depends on the editor of the guide. There are several that don't post anything without sources. And TV Tome has gotten a bad rap from those guides that post anything they see as "news".

why must the worst outcomes always happen? *sigh*

Can't comment on the accuracy of TVtome, but wouldn't this announcement have been made, oh i don't know, at a con or at least by a an actually press-release considering the popularity of this particular title..

*sigh* here we go again. Please take no offense here Hyper but, I wish you'd waited for more credibale evidence before posting this. Neither ANN or AOD have even acknowleged this and Judging from the "source" TV Tome got it from this looks to be false. This is just like the Rumor about naruto being liscened in the netherlands and that turned out false.

The thing is anyone can be a tvtome editior, yes even very stupid people, like most propally the editors of the Naruto guideI don't trust anything unless there's an official statement made. In the case of Naruto, TV Tome's claims are false until proven true. There's no official statement from 4Kids themselves. In fact, there's no conformation period on Naruto getting licensed by 4Kids.

All I can say at this point is hope for the best for Naruto, and that it doesn't suffer the same fate the other Shonen Jump titles faced.

I'm just mainly pointing out that I found this particular rumor rather interesting. Given they didn't say anything to out of 4kids realm of possiblity unlike the April Fools one which was very cheezy.

Poor us; the sad part is that I emailed UPN to ask about Fox Box and they told me to ask Pax about it.That's hilarious. Since you live 'close to' Atlanta (and I used to, too [yeah, I remember the chemical fire]), ask FOX about it, or just ask 4Kids (as if they'll respond).

I asked them to distribute The Cramp Twins on DVD, and I haven't heard from them since.

Ah, the saga of Fox children's entertainment in Atlanta.

Never got Fox Kids on Fox, but on The WB Sundays... then Hotlanta, then Hotlanta dies, then Fox Box ends up on UPN, which cancels it...

Yeah. It's a wonder why we keep selling One Piece at my comic shop.

You sell One Piece because it's an excellent comic.

Chad Bonin

Manga sells great with the youngins, actual comics are more for adults (outside of Sonic the Hedgehog and the Marvel Age line, most read manga).

Inuyasha sells great (I haven't seen one person over 14 buy it, ironically), Rave Master sells great (Not to a person over 10), and even .hack//Legend sells freakishly well.

All of those are on Cartoon Network (And, yes, everyone says they watch them on the channel, even .hack).

Shaman King doesn't EXIST in Atlanta outside of Shonen Jump and the rare CN airing.

KuwabaraTheMan
11-25-2004, 12:13 AM
Sure, but One Piece, Shaman King, Naruto and Hikaru no Go are all good manga even if you're unfamiliar with the anime. And they've all got more exposure than .hack//Legend of the Twilight, with its mighty 1:30 AM timeslot.

It is TV Tome policy to not allow stupid people on the website at all. Most of the time it works; sometimes it doesn't.

A Spyro series would have worked back after 'Ripto's Rage' or before the third game. But considering the incredibly underwhelming new game that's out now... meh.

As for Naruto... the rumor is from TV Tome. What's there to be afraid of?

Brent Long
11-25-2004, 02:26 AM
The very fact that Beet the Vandel Buster was liscensed so quickly makes me evn more skeptical than I already was when it was said that TV tome posted this. This is the same site that said Digimon characters would be featured on House of Mouse. 4Kids is the most down-to-business anime company in the US. It's not probably the greatest business decision to liscense a series that is only up to episode 6 in Japan so far. Not to mention the concept of a Spyro cartoon. First off, Spyro is a pretty dead franchise in the US to begin with, also while 4Kids has liscensed video game anime before, in fact that's one of their staples in this industry. Spyro doesn't particularly seem to be something that they would produce or even air. I believe Spyro is owned by Universal. If a Spyro cartoon were ever made than it would probably air on NBC Saturday mornings, or any of the other NBC/Universal cable networks. Besides like many have said it's not at all difficult to become a TV Tome editor. I mean some of this false information was not necessarily inserted by the editor, but personally I see that this is the perfect time to spread liscensor lies, what with the announcement of sorts a week or two ago.

Dear Lord, please let this be a rumor. I want to at least see all the episodes of Sonic X before anything happens. And a Spyro series. I got nothing against Spyro, but unless I see prove, I refuse to believe this. Maybe I'm bitter because I've been begging for a Crash Bandicoot show since 1998, although I see it as a moot point since he isn't as widely known as he is now.

I save up and buy the DVD's and tape it. Then I'll be able to talk about each episode in the talkbacks for the US version. And I'll probably focus my attention on talking about who will licensed Bleach.

Come now Matt, there's always something else to pick up the torch.

But I don't let such a thing run my life.

In reality... I'm most likely going to a 4 year university (a transfer degree in mind) next Fall so I wont even be able to watch Naruto on TV unless I tape it. I'll probably just buy the DVD's. And if 4kids does get it, then that's exactly what I will do. But of course if 4kids does get it, it'll be about a half a year to year before we'll see the uncut DVD's (and that's after it begins airing). I wish One Piece was coming out (sooner).

Good thing Masashi's brother picked a title not suitable for the kiddies.

And Matt doesn't know it, but he's part of this also. We all are whether we like it or not. A robber holds up a bank with you and me hostage, he isn't going to let you go home because you kissed ass more than another. Your face if grinded into the money-scented carpet just like any other bag of rotting flesh. On the bright side though, we can choose to ignore the loud hollering. But deep down we are being comsumed by the tedious debates. We'll try to ignore the next Naruto thread, but if Karl or Twage aren't here, we'll feel tempted to peek in and spot the craziness. Eventually getting pulled.

Eat, sleep, female dog shouldn't be a routine for people. Sad that it is though.

I haven't been watching Naruto at all, but from all the anticipation, I can tell it's a great show. It sucks that two shows that I've been waiting to watch have been taken away to the dark side called 4Kids and FOXBOX: the two channels/program thingys that I hate the most. Oh well, I'll just have to how good this show really is when they come out on DVD.

Andrew T. Hingson
11-27-2004, 01:55 AM
Well we can all hope that wouldn't be the case but really 4kids will do ANYTHING for a profit. If they think they can edit OP all the way then I suppose they'll assume the same of Naruto (the only difference being OP starts out light and gets really violent and Naruto is always pretty violent or very violent).

Nothing is un-editable but some things shouldn't be edited.

KuwabaraTheMan

4Kids execs are smart business people though. They'll probably realize that if they have to edit out all the stuff out of Naruto, they'd wind up paying "next big thing" dollars for a show that after being hacked to hell with 3+ episodes being combined into one and the entire plot being rewritten would get average ratings at best, and would basically be financial suicide.

TV Tome posts carry about as much credibility as the information submitted to IMDB.COM for cast lists which come from anyone who mails them.

Not saying that some tv tome editors don't do a good job. I use episode guides there from time to time.

But in this case I wouldn't put much trust into this random posting by this naruto editor.
