View Full Version : The importance of milk with chocolate

I don't know about other people, but for me, those older "Got Milk?" ads are the absolute truth. The slightest taste of chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, cake, or vanilla gives me a craving for cold milk so great that I really do feel like freaking out if there isn't any. NOTHING else will do...even plain old water manages to taste foul after chocolate, and Milk, for me, doesn't taste good any other time. They're just completely inseperable.

But actual chocolate milk just gives me a craving for normal milk.

For salty/spicy foods, lunches and dinners and such though, it has to be fruit juice or soda. I do like water, and drink an awful lot of it, but only by itself...

Well, the first part I agree with you, the second however I do not. I LOVE spicy food. Habaneros are my friends! :anime: And the carbonation of soda actually makes the spice hurt more. And milk (to me) doesn't help. Water seems to be the best most of the time. And I don't drink juice with food, so. . . Actually the only juice I truely enjoy is cranberry juice or raspberry, but whatever. Erm, so yes, any sweet needs milk to enhance/refresh your tastebuds.

Water wouldn't help, because it's not supposed to have a taste, any cleansed water doesn't have a taste.

As for milk, yep, nothing like good ol milk with cookies or whatever other sweets...Yum yum.

It's true that the only way to quickly neutralize the effects of a scotch bonnet is to have a glass of milk nearby. I however don't care, me being "ol asbestos lips" and all.

Yeah, nothing like milk to wash down desert. I think water tastes nasty after I've had something sweet, and pop doesn't give you that refreshing taste like milk.

Yep, totally agree. You can't have a piece of cake without a glass o' milk with you.

I like it warm, with perhaps a drop of almond or vanilla extract, but for some reason I just can't deal with cold plain milk...chocolate or malted is another story, though =)

Well thanks for this one Scythe, I haven't had cold milk & cookies for ages and now I'm really wanting them :) got to be choc chip or ginger though and the milk must be ice cold - cool or room temp milk is just horrible, I can't do milk with cake though for some reason.

Other than that I only like milk hot with maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon. I tend to drink water or diet soda with everything else be it savoury or sweet.

I hardly drink plain milk anymore, so when I do it's always accompanied by chocolate, strawberry, and now vanilla flavoring. Breakfast for me on most days is a glass of chocolate Ovaltine :p

I think Lorna Doones (Snortbread Cookies) are GREAT to dunk in coffee mixed with milk! Tan coffee! YAY!

"Long walks on the dunes. The gentle ocean breeze. Chocolate being raped by milk. These are the things I'm reminded of when I open a box of Joel's Ice Cream Sandwiches and take a big bite."

The only time milk taste good? Meh...got a point there-_-; Though if you ever do happen to eat some sweets then water...don't follow up with milk, you'll get the worst taste of your life. Though milk is good after any sweet, not just chocolate. Well it is for me at least, jawbreakers and milk...strange mix but it comes out quit good if you ask me. ^ ^;

I don't like milk unless it has something to go with it or it is chocolate.

Try drinking milk after eating a dill pickle. The feeling is pleasurable but indescribable.

Milk is good, but not great:

Its comes from a cow
Its kinda bland
There are more varities than dwarves
Mix and match, make a batch
It only works good in cereal, making dessert, and spicy food. That's it, its not cool.
