Election special. Review it 24 times if you want.

Why on Earth are they airing the same episode 24 times?!? That doesn't make any sense. Why not just have a marathon of Harvey Birdman episodes? Are they trying to anger their audience?

Mentok dumping on the kids at the birthday party was frigging hilarious.

kind of boring and unfunny like most Birdmans but Mentok at the birthday party was good....

I kinda liked QuickDraw's new personality, but I wish he was still an idiot, especially since Baba Louie is still the same.

Except for the ending (mainly dealing with QuickDraw practicing his new line), I liked the episode. It's one of my favorites. I loved the stuff with Mentok and Mightor (He returns!).

I thought it was pretty good, the whole guitar allegory thing was pretty bizzaro. The election campaign seemed way to forced in though.

The ending with Baba Louie dying was hilarious, yet very sad:p

Hahaha good one. Phil Ken Sebben for Pres! Mightor makes a return in this one, I miss him. I'm not gonna watch it 24 times, but I might watch it again one more time later.

I liked Quickdraw's personality on this show, it reminded me somewhat of Antonio Banderas. The birthday party and political ad parts were good too.

"You! You will move to Tuscany with your mother (boy looks excited)...and your boyfriend! (boy falls down)" :p
One of the better episodes of this season. I do think premeiring it on a Sunday would've been better though.

Hey I get the joke...

And now I'm sad. It wasn't Sealab horrible, but it was just laughless and empty in my opinon. The only funny gag (sort of) was the birthday party.

Gags I liked
-Nobody caring about the real gun
-Bumper Cars in Harvey's office
-The Bon Jovi reference
-The confetti stopping when Phil was lamenting, then starting up again after he was cheery.
-Harvey having to notorize a fishtank.
-QuickDraw going all PotA on the kids.
-Peanut shooting the real gun right at the end.

I thought it was OK. Anyone else notice that they add a little something each time it airs? I don't recall that bit about founding fathers using guitars in the first one...

Okay episode. Nothing really good.

Was that a naked woman I saw in the live-action ad for Phil?

We're gonna take down the final taboo! Next year we air Cutie Honey!:p

Meh ep, BTW. Not great, but not horrible either.

I loved it when Mightor coughed up a guitar solo (80's Dokken style).

Another substandard Birdman.

This show's not cutting it anymore, but not in a Sealab "spectacular self-destruct" sorta way, but more in a "we just can't be bothered to be all that funny" kinda way. When all the old-school WS originals crash and burn or lose steam at nearly the same time, it probably means something. F

Birdman doesn't fall into the WS domain.

(REMEMBER: If you don't want to learn to hate it, DON'T watch all 24 airings of it.)

THAT'S what Harvey Birdman should always be: A CASE! This show almost never works well when relying off the office characters for character-based comedy, but almost always does well when the case is the A plot at least if there's two plots, even better if its the only one.

I love Quickdraw's new personality, very different from the other new personalities of HB characters, very respectable and likable-

-but I REAAAALY hope his sentance repeating and obsessiveness of a line from a website does NOT become a recurring joke. We have enough one-trick ponies as it is who have killed their solitary jokes (Supervolt/Black Lightning: In your pants.).

Off Topic: Bush and Kerry are pretty close. Nader is about 1% The system is not easy on third parties when its not local.

Birdman doesn't fall into the WS domain.

I stand corrected. It was one of [as] first generation, so the temptation for me is to lump it in with ATHF and the others.

That said, HBAAL is still in a down turn. Just like the WS originals, of which HBAAL is not one. That better?

Sure.

I don't think Birdman is in some kind of downward spiral, but it seems to be swimming on a sea of mediocrity lately. I did like episodes like Droopy Botox, Back to the Present, and The Devlin Made Me Do It this season.

Mediocre. . .that's a good word for it. Just seems lazy. I liked "Devilin" but the rest of the episodes were either trying too hard or going too far away from what the show was really successful at doing. This episode tried for that classic style but just felt like it was trying too hard.

Pretty good. Baba Louie dying at the end was quite predictable. Loved Rob Paulsen's take on the character though.

How about that OJ Simpson reference?

The birthday party was awful funny (as in awful and funny).

Phil for president.

Twas a decent episode.

Birthday party was the best scene. I also liked Quickdraw's new attitude + bumper cars in the office. I didn't care much for the "Phil Sebben for president" stuff though.

The Quick Draw stuff was good, but the "vote for Phil" stuff seemed tacked on and forced. I don't know why cartoons always feel the need to take cheap shots at Charleton Heston though. I think South Park's done it, I know Family Guy's done it, and now HB:AAL is doing it. If you need a right-wing gun-nut to pick on, switch over to Ted Nugent. He's still more than able to fight back, and he's more entertaining while doing so.

I liked this episode.
Quickdraw as Charlton Heston was out of character, but I really didn't mind.
Baba Looey got killed, but I'm glad they didn't spend half the episode torturing, humiliating or generally dumping on him, which happens to someone too much on Birdman.
Mentok coming in with the storm cloud was cool, and his magic show was the best part of this episode. I guess the poodle kid is gay also.

I got a laugh from Sebben loosing the election because of the constitutional amendment.

Oh! Almost forgot. I've taken every drug known to man, and not just orally. Just getting that out there.

Very odd episode, I didn't really get a good feel from it. Heck, I almost forgot it was on with everything else going on. Also it was very guitar heavy, pretty much to the extreme. I think I'll catch it again to see if it gets any funnier, but easily not the greatest Birdman episode IMO. That ending with Peanut wasn't bad, also the whole time having Phil running for President with interesting, also that ad of his was funny.

"Guitar Control" gets a C-.

The best part about Sebben's campaign stuff was the end of his commerical.

"Paid for by whoever gave Phil Sebben $......... dollars" (I forgot the number but I thought it was a hillarious stab at the endings of campaign commericals).

Now if Phil actually said "I'm Phil Ken Sebben, & I aprove this $12 Billion." that would make it complete.

It was a welcome change from hearing the word Ohio for the 176,235th time last night, but it wasn't worth watching more than once. D

I thought the best part was the the pair of opening statements. Yay! A court case as the heart of a HB episode!

Harv: 'You have the right to a guitar EVEN when playing Green Days "Time of Your Life" over and over in your college common area!'

Reducto: ...But who could have foreseen the fretless bass?

Great stuff.

I thought this episode was alright. Liked the mention of a Flying V, Mightor coughing up a guitar solo, Phil's ad saying people should vote for him since he has 12 billion dollars, "shake baby, kiss hand", Phil's excuses for losing the election, and Quickdraw's thoughts on concealed weapons. Overall, a decent episode, parts with Phil being my favorite.

I'm extremelly surprised that this isn't getting good reviews. I absolutely loved this episode, with Quickdraws new 'tude and Babbalooie (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) getting deep-sixed by Peanut.

Maybe it was the 24 reruns in a row that conjured up all the negative reviews. I watched it once and switched to the daily show just in time to catch one of the reporters playing Halo.

It wasn't really awful (and actually above average based on the last season) but I'm just not feeling this show that much anymore. The satire was forced, both on the NRA stuff and the political stuff.

It did have some good moments, though, most of which have been mentioned...I don't know, C range.

The Quickdraw stuff was awful. "From my cold dead hoof." Oh, I see they replaced the word hand with hoof. Wow, you really got Charlton Heston on that one

I did kind of like the Phil stuff though.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, actually. I thought the timing was good, and the "guitar=guns" metaphor didn't fizzle out nearly as fast as I thought it would. The Phil stuff was... well, moderately amusing, but I enjoyed everything else pretty heartily. It held my interest, and it was somewhat coherent, which is more than I can say for most HBAAL episodes.

Wow. Quick Draw channels Charlton Heston, right down to the wiggly jaw and underbite.

Other than that - lame ass.

Sorry, but HBAAL is really going down hill, just as the rest of the first-gen Willams Street cartoons.

1. OK, so the guitar lobby = NRA and Quickdraw = Charlton Heston....

2. Heh, so the 2nd Amendment is from Moses' tablets of 10 commandments now.... :D

3. I guess from those photos: Elian Gonzales, smurf tanks = Tiananmen Square, ATF agents = David Koresh at Waco, TX?

I find it strange that in an episode about guitars and guns they didn't make a single reference to The "El Mariatchi" trilogy. Especially the opening of Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

I believe the ATF referance is from Ruby Ridge. Another ATF fiasco that happened before Waco TX.

The Smurf village being attacked by a tank came from Waco, where a similar tactic was used to plant a tear gas canister.

The Hillbilly Bears piece was apeing the incident at Ruby Ridge.

Otherwise it was an interesting episode. No one seems to have noticed Jet Screamer, the young guitar-playing Elvis clone on the Jetsons making a few brief cameos. And Geo. Washington, Funky Phantom and Justice Scalia always seem to show up when they are making a constitutional joke. And Phil nearly got a chance to make a certain oral sex joke at the end before getting kicked in the you-know-whats....

Another line: "Get your hands off me you damn dirty kids." Kids, of course, replacing apes.
