I think this poll has been done to death I guess I start a new one. Because If you would ask me one year ago I would have said Marvel but now I am going to say DC. I think DC has better writers not to say that i dont enjoy JMS or bendis or even buffy wheadon. Can someone really outgrow marvel?? I dont really care for x-men universe anymore. It started after the onslaught saga it was after dissapointment even more crap. Thank god for Amazing spidey and ultimate spidey if not I would not pick a marvel issue for that main reason. anyway my question was who do u guys think is better??? and please post ur response why did u choose one over the other.

Marvel. When I first got into comics it was because of the X-Men, and so Marvel was what I first read and loved. I do like DC (and several people will say that it's silly to pick one over the other and blah blah blah) but I just prefer Marvel titles. I have read a ton of DC titles, (and of course some smaller publishers, like Dark Horse, or Image) but Marvel still sticks close to my heart.

If you put the universes against one another they're about even right now, give it a year and Marvel will pull ahead.
If you count non mainstream continuity books, Max, Vertigo, and so on... Marvel can't hold a candle or much else to DC.

Howdy,
I think I'm going to be my usual curmudgeonly self and pull out one of my favorite quotes from The Prisoner: "When the sides facing each other suddenly realise that they're looking into a mirror, they'll see that this is the pattern for the future."
About all I can say with certainty is that I'm buying more from DC than from Marvel, but nearly all the monthlies I'm buying are on the knife edge of being cancelled. Unless they replace them with something as good or better, I'll be happy to take my money to Oni Press, Dark Horse, Image, AiT/PlanetLar, Avatar, Atomeka, or whoever else can keep me and my fickle tastes amused :).

While they both produce some awesome comics, I went with DC just because I've followed their storyline all my life. I know the characters, I know the history, so I feel most comfortable with DC. But I'm not saying Marvel is bad, it has excellent stories that I follow closely, but DC just comes out ahead for me.

I only started picking up DC in any kind of numbers over the past 5 years or so. I guess as I'm growing up my tastes are changing. I looked at my pull last week and it was 4 dc's and one marvel.
I was as big a fan of Marvel as you could imagine.
But years of crap, have made me very much indifferent now. I've grown more attached towards DC. And at the moment, that's what gets my vote.

I read only Marvel right now, not because I dislike DC, but simply because I haven't seen any good reasons to jump on. The only character I really feel drawn towards in DC is Batman and I heard from a few people that none of his books are too great right now. So since I am only reading one side of the story I didn't vote.
