Tonight the inmates are back in their padded cells as General Manager Eric Bischoff returns to his role tonight in Peoria. Edge will be back in the house tonight as well. He and Chris Benoit are signed to defend the Benoit-won World Tag Team Championship agaist former Champs La Résistance. Will Edge even appear to help his partner? EDGE AT RAW
NOV. 1, 2004

As WWE moves across the Midwest into Peoria, IL., WWE.com has learned that Edge will, in fact, be at Monday Night RAW.

Not only will Edge be at RAW, but he will be defending the World Tag Team Championship, as well. Since capturing the titles, Edge has yet to be seen by the side of his tag team partner, Chris Benoit. Will Edge be in Benoit's corner for this World Tag Team Championship match against La Resistance? Tune in to RAW to find out.

In other action, Eugene and Gene Snitsky will go one on one once again. This time, however, they will compete under Hardcore Rules. This one may get ugly.

Former Intercontinental Champion Christian will battle The Hurricane.

Also, how will Triple H get along with the rest of the RAW roster after being hunted by them last week?

With General Manager Eric Bischoff back on the job, anything could happen this week.

Don’t miss RAW (9/8 CT on Spike TV).

Does anyone know what it is with those weird http://www.wwe.com/images/sponsors/d_onblack.gif and http://www.wwe.com/images/sponsors/s_onblack.gif images showing up on WWE.com lately? It makes it difficult to cut and past text and I don't get it.

The DS thing is for the promotion of the Nintendo DS. I think anyway.

This RAW rocked. Plain and simple. Not the best one this year but up to par with the ones in April, May, and June.

The 3 vs 2 main event was awesome. I was betting on a Triple H midget but Tajiri's cool too :D .The faces using Evolution tactics = great. Y2J lowblowing Flair, Maven choking Flair while Randy has the whole 'It wasn't me expression' was awesome. They had me entertained through the whole show.

Oh and Viscera needs to go away. And Simon Dean was hilarious. And Heel!Trish rocks the boat. The irony is delicious :p. Seems like RAW is improving greatly. Let's see if SmackDown! can keep the pace.

Raw was okay tonight. Matches were pretty good, loved the Tajiri dressed as Triple H stuff, Hurricane definitely needs a push, Snitsky is still a bore. Simon Dean just plain sucked, I can't believe that for the first time ever I cannot care less about Nova, whom I usually like. Viscera definitely needs to go away, and now I'm really hoping they'll give Rhyno and Tajiri a chance to get those tag team belts. And irritating as she may be, I'm gonna have to side with Trish on the 'Lita the Career Destroyer' stuff. As if I didn't miss Essa Rios enough, they have to show a video of him, reminding me how they ruined his stay in WWE after Lita dumped him for the stupid Hardy Boyz. That definitely ruined my mood.

Overall, a good Raw. Hope they keep up the good work.

I'm sorry, but thanks to Mike Bucci's acting ability, I am really beginning to like the "Simon Dean" character. He just pulls it off so well. Yes, I know that he is just a modern update of the Bodydonnas (Skip and Zip) without Tammy Sytch, but still. Neither Chris Candido nor Tom Pritchard (I think he's the right Pritchard in question...) could act as well he does.

Oh... and about Mohammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari... WHAT THE HELL IS VINCE MCMAHON THINKING?! Do they really want to kill Mark Magnus and Shawn Daivari's respective careers completely? Magnus will feel the heat even more than Daivari, since Daivari looks at least a little Middle Eastern. Magnus looks like he just spent way too much time in a tanning salon. At best, these promos will get the "Hirohito" treatment: they quickly get pulled and the characters get retooled. If this is to happen, we will see them back on TV in a month, only this time as themselves (more or less). At worse, I can see these two getting hurt in real life, especially if there is another major terrorist attack in the near future. I'm sorry, but this whole thing comes off less like a "questionable character done in good taste" like Eugene and more "let's milk a hot-botton issue," like when Sgt. Slaughter sided with the Iraqis during the first Gulf War.

The Lita video package may have been the greatest thing ever. WWE tends to ignore the past when it doesn't go they way they want it to, and bringing up that stuff was awesome.

They kinda botched the main event IMO. It wasn't bad, but based on the beginning of Raw I'd have preferred Flair v. Tajiri, Flair v. Rhyno, or even Flair/Batista v. Rhyno/Tajiri. I guess they needed an excuse to have the same half dozen guys in the main event each week. Maven's gotta be loving life about now though.

I'm not sure on Mohammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari. The best way to get WWE fans not to do something is to tell them to do it, so I don't see much respect coming their way when they make their TV debut. And the whole "Praise Allah" thing is just asking for trouble, unfortunately.

The Simon Dean character has potential, but where did they dig that other guy up? He can't be an OVW wrestler with that body (can he?) but he couldn't really be a random fan either. That segment was almost unwatchable.

Move the tag belts to one show or the other. The Raw titles have gone back and forth between La Resistance and Benoit/random partner for about the last year and it's getting annoying. Both tag divisions stink and one show (SD please) could be helped by rebuilding the Tag Team Championship.

Why are there no other teams on RAW? It doesn't seem like a hard thing to do when you have a number of people on the roster that either wrestle on Heat or don't wrestle on tv at all. What happened to Rhyno and Tajiri and why did they kill that push so fast? I can't stand La Resistance (and not in a I don't like them because they're heels kind of way, but an "I can't stand them because they bore me" way).

Four weeks in a row I've fallen asleep before or during the main event. Maybe I need more rest, or maybe Randy Orton still isn't interesting enough for me to watch.

Something bad will come of this blatant attempt at ratings with bringing up 9/11 in a storyline. I've seen the WWF/E do some stupid things, but I never thought they'd do something this...tasteless. This is coming from a person that usually forgives most of what they do.

So Edge can claim he was the only person to ever make Benoit tap. Too bad such a huge claim is wasted on such a low talent. But I guess that's the M.O. for the WWE at the moment (Gene Snitsky is the person to put Kane down...blah). Why does Edge even have a book? Was that real? He hasn't done all that much to deserve my money from a book yet.

I'm mad I missed the Lita segment. From all accounts it sounds like something I would have liked. Oh well.

I noticed a distinct amount of boos when Maven's name was either said or he appeard on camera. I guess the crowd doesn't like him. Either that, or they see him as the hack he is. Okay, maybe that's being too mean, but I just don't seem him, at this point, being anything other than a Heat guy. Certainly not enough to be in the classic match at Survivor Series.

Viscera should not be on tv ever again.

An okay show tonight. RAW's been better without too many talking segments to open up or slow down the show. But I am glad that Bischoff finally realized sucking up to Evolution did nothing (and thus we can have a GM that hates everyone equally).

Simon Dean wrestled for many years in ECW under the names "Super Nova" and later simply "Nova" until it's demise in early 2001. He's a very talented wrestler and was over really well in the company.
