How do I get a picture under my username?
These small images are called Avatars. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. In order to have an avatar, you need to have been a member for at least 10 days and have made at least 10 posts. If you meet these requirements, go to the change avatar section of the edit options page. Select "yes" next to "custom avatar", then enter the url of the file you wish to use, or browse your hard drive for one. An avatar must be a valid .gif or .jpg image, and may not exceed 75 by 75 pixels or 10240 bytes.

For help on making and resizing an avatar, check around for one of the threads containing bird_boy's generous, standing offer to help newbies with avatars! He's bumping them, so they should stand out pretty easily.

I'm pretty sure the 10 day limit part isn't valid, it's only 10 posts that are required. But custom titles do require both 10 days and 10 posts. I should change that part of the FAQ later.
