Who do you think Superman should marry? Wonder Woman, or Lois Lane? I know that Clark & Lois have married in the comics, but some people, including my friend, think that Wonder Woman would be the better choice. Any thoughts?

This sounds like a "Mallrats" conversation, a PG version anyway :p

I personally think Wonder Woman is a better choice.

Well, it did go that way in Kingdom Come.

--Lois, because I like a woman with an edge. Wonder Woman--this version, anyway--seems so quiet and girly and inexperienced. I'd feel a sense of guilt, if I were in Supes' cape, about seducing such an innocent little thing....

Based on the pilot, I'd like to see Wonder Woman hook up with the Flash.

Hehe, "Dibs on the amazon!" :D
Anyway, I hafta go Lois all the way. They're personalities are different just enough to make the friction between them work.
Diana and Supes is just kinda icky feeling. They're too much alike.

Well, I think if Supes is going to hook up with anyone, he's going to have to loosen up a bit. He was starting to by the end of S:TAS (obviously, with the whole kissing Lois scene), but seems to have taken a few steps back from that. Maybe a few nights out on the town with Flash will do the trick?

Shouldn't marry either of 'em. Better stories if he stays unmarried and there's always that romantic tension. However, if you're asking with which one should he be romantically involved, I'd have to go with Wonder Woman. Superman, I imagine, would want someone who is his equal, or as close to it as possible. Unless you're dealing with some very bad writing (i.e. treating Superman as an idiot) Lois can never be Superman's equal, just his rescuee. Wonder Woman, on the other hand, is every bit Superman's equal on every level.

Supergirl, of course! He should hook up with another of his kind.

Well, if we're going by what we've seen so far on the animated programs, then, while Diana may be a physical equal (though, not quite as strong), she is in now way intellectually equal. She seemed to be somewhat moronic in the few lines they actually gave her. Now Lois, she's smart. I'd even say more intellegent that Supes. So, for what she lacks in brawn, she more than makes up for in brains.
And calhoun, gross man! The girl's like 17 and he's over 30!
Not that there's anything wrong with relationships containing a huge age difference, but she's still a minor (granted, not by the time JL starts, but he always treated her like a little sister anyhow).

Super Girl is Superman's Cousin. Are you sure you want this?

Actually, in current continuity and animated continuity she isn't. In comics, she's that Matrix thingie (who died, and right now the last host to Matrix is Supergirl) and in animated continuity she's someone from Krypton's sister planet Argo.

COuld end up with Bizarro Jr. if they hooked up.
It's always been Supes and Lois. I still like that. She's the one he always longed for. I think it should end up that way in the end (whenever that may be)

Yeah, I was talking about the Supergirl from the other planet, no way related to Superman!
If those two hooked up, it would proove to be quite interesting. Not only would Superman have a woman truly worthy of carrying his child and being his mate, but do you think it would also shed more negative light on Superman? Would he get criticism and hatred directed towards him for apparently trying to bring in a pure bred race of Kryptonians into the world? Would his children be sought out to be killed before they gained full powers? I don't think the world would sit still for very long if Superman tried having children, whether it be with Lois, Wonder Woman, or Supergirl.

Is Supergirl a pure bred Kryptonian? In S:TAS wasn't she from Argo, a planet near Krypton? I'm not even sure of the comic book version of Supergirl. I know they're not actually cousins, but from the same solar system maybe? I'm not very sure.

In the animated universe, she is from Argo, and that's what I am talking about. I am also talking about the reaction from people as a whole. People wouldn't think Superman was hooking up with an Argoian, but another one of his kind. In the eyes of people, they would be seen as the same superior race of aliens, and I think any effort for them to have kids would be seen as threatening. Then again, I think any effort for Superman to have kids might be taken wrong by people as a whole. And again, I am talking about the animated universe, where Superman is struggling to have the confidence of the people. I think that to get their utmost confidence, he would be wise to leave Earth women alone and to focus on his job for the time being.

This is a long rant, folks. Buckle your seat belts.
Okay, confession time. Though I realize it's sacrilege on this board, I've recorded but haven't actually seen the Justice League animated series yet. (So sue me- I've had the wife, work, and school on my plate. Poor excuses, I realize, but whatcanyado?) So I'm not sure how the characters have actually been presented in the series.
What I will say is that it's unfortunate if Superman and Wonder Woman are presented as not-too-bright. That's always been one of my beefs with the regular-continuity Superman comics. Solutions that seem obvious to the reader seem to elude Superman until somebody like Lois points it out to him. If I wanted stories about a big strong lump who solves everything with his muscles, I'd read Hulk or Thor.
That's one of the things I really liked about S:TAS. He wasn't as powerful as in the comics, but he came across as a heck of a lot smarter. Even the description of him on the website describes him as having a "computer-like" mind and, for the most part, it showed in the animated series and the Superman Adventures comic.
One of the continuing threads on almost every DC-type board is the "Who's smarter, Batman or Superman" question. I like to think of them as equally book-smart (access to and understanding of technology, science, languages, etc.) or maybe even Superman having a little more book-smarts (he does come from an advanced civilization, after all), but Batman has greater street smarts and experience. And in the kind of business they are in, street smarts and experience will often prove more useful.
Sorry about this rant, it's just that I'm tired of the Batman Exclusionary Rule (when Batman's in the area, no one else is allowed to think). It makes the other heroes look ineffective and it robs Batman of the quality of being special because he's exceptionally good at what he does, but still "only" human.
End of rant. You can stop pumping me full of tranquilizers now.

Although I really like both Superman and Wonder Woman, they don't belong together. I can see them relating, being friends and even developping romantic interest for one another, but I think they would both realize they aren't meant to be before any kissing starts. Sure Wondie's an Amazon, but she shouldn't marry Supes just because he has alien super-powers! Since having read the restart of WW by George Perez (80's), in which Steve Trevor is her elder, I don't feel that Wonder Woman has any "perfect partner". Then again, I felt that way about She-Ra. Maybe's it has something to do with these strong, independant women. Don't misunderstand, I like them both and think they or any such woman could find a mate, it's just that they are so unique that it would be hard for them to really relate with anyone. It's like pairing up J'onn with Jojo Savard (the Quebec psychic) - sure, they can both read minds, but they just wouldn't work!
I would be happy if Clark and Diana developped feelings, confronted each other, only to decide to remain friends (on JL). Clark could even indirectly mention that he's already devoted to Lois. Instead, I would like to see Hawkgirl take off the mask (are her wings detachable too?) and be human with Wally. He's a flirt, she's vicious - it could work :)
