Anyone know who has the license for JL-related toys? Is there a toy line in the works? Any fast food tie-ins? I need info!!
Love the show, by the way. Any complaints I have are slim to none. I'd rather just soak in this long-awaited show every week and support Carton Network and Warner Bros. for their efforts. All you guys who are on here griping: how many kids have you recruited to watch this show? I'm thinking not many.
Anyway, it's good to be part of this forum. Way to go, Toon Zone!

Hasbro has the Justice League licence. This could be good or bad.
Good if they go by way of the original BTAS line, bad if they go toward the multi-colored batman that we've sadly grown accustomed.
If hasbro uses the style established by Justice League, and has a wide range of characters made into figure form, it should be a great line. We should see the entire first wave at Toy Fair this year.
Talk is that we'll be impressed (we'll see).

Being a constant optimist, I have a little faith in Hasbro. They met with DC Direct over this, remember? That should give some indication they care what the fans think. Also, we're almost garunteed to get the seven JLAers in their regular form, since that's what Hasbro always does. Probably a few villains, too.
However, re-using old sculpts has become more and more expected from everyone. Sadly, this could mean they re-use the STAS Superman sculpt. Even if it is the later version with the cooler head, it wouldn't fit JL at all.
We should AT LEAST hope this turns out better than the ROTJ toy line did. That just sucked.

Well, when they switched from the BTAS to the TNBA designs they redesigned Batman, the Joker, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, and the Riddler (meaning different molds). I'd assume that they'd do the same for Batman and Superman this time.

Doesn't anyone remember the HORRIBLE Batman Beyond line? If they pull that again....

I think everyone has tried to forget that line and pretend it never existed...

Good point on the resculpts, Karkull.
As for Batman Beyond...way I heard it was Hasbro came up with the idea. So they made the toys before the show even began production. Anyone hear differently?

So it's a fact that Hasbro is working on a line? Not just an assumption? Cool! If they really do all seven leaguers, I imagine they would spread them out in the first 3 or more waves, making sure to put a Batvariant in each assortment. I'd love to see (at least) one villain per wave, starting with Lex Luthor. I love his new armor!
And as long as I'm dreaming...
Green Lantern should come with some green energy attachments -- maybe a sphere to imprison a bad guy in.
Hawkgirl needs a line that you can have her 'fly' along.
Flash should NOT have a corny 'running action'. Instead, give him a voice chip with some of his silly one-liners.
In fact, voice chips all around!
The Watchtower playset will be over 3 feet tall with a docking space for the Javelin-7. And a little kitchen that makes 'mocha lattes' for Flash. Oh, and a meditation chamber for J'onn.
Okay, I'm awake again. Bring on the pink and purple polka-dotted "Vegas Camouflage Batman"!

Here's hoping that in addition to the (hopefully) huge number of 5" figures (and playsets) that will be produced, that we also get a line of Famous Covers/Mego like 9" figures. The base (male) mold is already there (and there's talk on RTM and elsewhere of upcoming 9" figures anyway (modern Supes in Jan, followed by Joker and Penguin)... of all of the 9" figures, none to date have been in the animated style and would probably be cheaper to produce than 12" versions (although I wouldn't mind that either mind you).

Good call, Heroic Images!
Nothing has been written in stone yet, but it's a pretty safe bet--a few months ago Hasbro and DC Comics reached an agreement to loan out the licenses to the characters on the show (except for Batman and Superman; which they still have the rights to).
I can't think of too many "special" features for the figures, but I'd like them to be to scale with the figures from the other four animated lines.
Plus, I'd like the Flash to have a shiny paint job like Metallo and Brainiac did (red and gold--kind of like a running sports car).
:D

Anyone know where to fins pics of the Subway Kids Pak toys? They've done a pretty good job in the past -- remember those groovy DC backpack clip-ons (or whatever they were) -- they were pretty well made and original.

I say release all seven members in the first wave.

Don't forget that they might want to release a villain or two in the first wave as well for contrast. I'd love to see all of the big 7 in wave one but I wonder what the odds of that really are since it would only leave villains, guest stars and (urp) variations for subsequent waves.
Well variations arn't always bad, like different stances and weapons, its just the paint jobs that can be dumb. Batman will supposedly devise new devices and suits, so if they stay true to that and the colors, the figures can be cool. Timm himself said the Javelin will be a cool toy, so I hope they take some sort of inspiration from Timm and the other creators. Id like it to be done with the chracters in memorable stances from the show like the star wars line. Like you see the figure and think of a certain episode, or the package also gives you that thought. I dunno, I think Hasbro will finally do DC right with these figures.

Here's my wish list:
Wave 1
Superman,Batman,Green Lantern,Wonder Woman, and a Manhunter Robot
Wave 2(This would ship about a month after wave 1)
Hawkgirl, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Mongul, and the Javelin
Wave 3
Action Poses for the JL, Watch Tower, Solomon Grundy, and Ultra Humanite
The rest of the waves would be variants of the heros along with guest heroes and more villains.

Fun list, hot rod. I think it's interesting that you include vehicles/playsets with the figure assortments. Saves you an extra trip to the store if everything is released in such an orderly fashion! ;)
I personally want to see re-releases of Luthor and Joker with new sculpts. Supes:TAS never really produced a good Lex figure.
And has anyone seen the prototype of Superman's spaceship (directly from several episodes) on the web? I would love for this to finally be greenlighted. Along with a new Batcave (not just a repaint). And the Batplane. And and and...

I hope they work on the poins of articulation.. it would be nice to actually move/pose the figure instead of lifting the arms up and down nly.

Based on the pilot, I'd like a J'onn J'onzz figure in his true Martian form.

Groovy idea. And maybe Wonder Woman in her Amazon garb?

Knowing the toy world as I do, I'd expect to see either a Supes or Batsy variant per-wave. But, Supes, Bats, Greeny, Flash, & MM will most likely be in assortment 1. And ESPECIALLY know Hasbro, I'd expect WW & Hawkgirl to appear sometime between waves 2-8. Stupid Hasbro.
Anyway! Since DC heroes have been getting the GREAT 4 pack toy treatment lately, can anyone else imagine a 4-pack of Lex, Joker, Mongul, & Grundy? HAHA! Ooo...

I'm assuming that they'll release four per series:
Wave One: Batman, Green Lantern, J'onn J'onzz, the Joker
Wave Two: Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, the Flash
Wave Three: Batman Variant #1, Hawkgirl, Star Sapphire, Solomon Grundy
Wave Four: Superman Variant #1, J'onn J'onzz in Martian Form, Ultra-Humanite, the Shade
Wave Five: Batman Variant #2, Aquaman, Ocean Master, the Cheetah
...and so on and so forth.

Sounds reasonable, but somehow I doubt they wouldn't have Supes in the first wave. Probably him instead of the Joker, Hasbro isn't exactly famous for putting villains in the first wave.

They used to be. The first BTAS line had the Penguin, Two-Face, and the Riddler in the first wave of figures. Then they had both Lex Luthor and Brainiac in the first wave of STAS figures. It's possible.

I think you're pretty on target there. I question Star Sapphire -- unless her appearance on the show just really garners a huge fan reaction (a la Harley Quinn). And I hope they release Aquaman sooner than that!

Yeah..probably...but maybe Hasbro'll take a hint and actually make some cool JL 4-Packs

Really? I wasn't as much of a fanboy back in those days, but I was always under the impression that there weren't any villains in the first wave. Then again, I do remember that the Mad Hatter was in the first wave of TNBA figures.
