O.k, here's my little contest, pitting X-Men vs. DC heroes. And it's NOT which show you like the most..it's who has the better animation!

X-Men vs. X-Men Evolution. whose Animation do you prefer?
VS.
Batman TAS & Superman TAS, Vs. Justice League.

My opinion, X-Men Evolution beats out the original X-Men. While the first one did have it's amazing moments(I can remember a few Wolvie vs. someone episodes, where the action sequences absolutely left me breathless), But in the end, the animation was choppy, & had confusing direction at times. Ever see that episode, where they knock open a door, during a storm, And Rouge n' Gambit stand next to eachother. Their hair blowing in two DIFFERENT directions. My brother always pointed that out.
But, X-Men Evolution is, overall, done in a very nice, smoot style, very slick, that is very pleasant to the eye. The original version always bothered me as I watched it.

Then, I'd say the original Batman & Superman series had the better animation. While JL is good, there is a "certain something" lacking in the animation. Perhaps it's the character designs. I love Batmans, & The Flash's designs. BUT, Superman is WAY too buff. His shoulders are as long as he is tall! That bothered me. & it looks like the animators simply have...I dunno..."too much to draw"??? But, in the original Batman, I think everyone would agree, it didnt get any better than that.

So...Original BTAS, vs. X-Men Evolution.......I'd give the prize to X-Men Evolution. I'm sorry, but the animation is just to smooth, & nice to watch. While Batman has a much more...classy look, the colors wern't really much to keep your eye occupied.

Opinions?

Well the 1st series is alot older so it doesn't look as good. But I think that the detailed charecter designs brought it down a notch.
X-Men: E looks realyl good though, thanks to all the CG and digital stuff.

As for JLA vs the others. I can really say that there where some points in the JL pilot that took my breathe away. I mean when I saw J'onzz transform himself it just looked sweet!!! And those H.G Well's looking creatures rocked.

IMO, XM:E beats out the original X-Men. JL will hopefully become more consistent in its animation (can we at least have a consistent Superman "S"?). B:TAS was very well done, and the characters were a bit more human. TNBSA created a Bats and Supes with chests and shoulders so huge it was a wonder they could move at all (though I really like the design and animation in TNBSA). JL, though mostly like TNBSA, seems to have mixed a bit (not much really) of a more "human" look to the characters.

An aside...Imagine JL done in the style of Japanese animation. I wonder...

XME is far superior to the original. The old version had its moments, but, it had me cracking up more than having my breath taken away.

And i haven't seen JL, so i can't contribute to that. :(

You might get something like "Giant Robo," which is basically about a superhero group (okay, there's a big robot here too). It's not out on DVD yet, but if you see the vhs versions on sale, I highly recommend getting it. It's one of the best mini-series (OAV) anime shows ever made. And that's not hyperbole; it's the truth.

I'm actually going to say I liked the first X-Men show's animation better. I chalk up the reason XME had such better animation overall due to the times and the budget, or whatever other factors I'm sure one could find if we dug deep enough.

But there's something light about XME animation that makes me like X-Men's better days a lot better. And that's "X-Men's better days," which do NOT refer to X-Men's first season, of course.

But above all that I place BTAS, TNBA's better days, and SupermanTAS. I like an animation style that doesn't conflict with the backgrounds at all (just as an example I sometimes find, I'm not saying X-Men had this happen) or one that relies on an extensive light look.
