Let's just say that Timm and co are actually going to follow continuums with the JL series. That would mean that somewhere along in the story of the new JL series Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, and Martian Manhunter are either killed or leave the team in order to pave the way for that Buddist GL, Big Barda, Hawkman or whatever his name was, and Mircon (or was his name Atom?).

Just to ponder this subject, Batman would have probably left the JL for good after "Rebirth" or "Return of the Joker" events. Superman had his "Legacy" issues and probably had to quit the team for awhile.

Just to create a hypothesis, with Batman and Superman on Hiatus from the team, perhaps Martian Manhunter, WW, GL, HG, and Flash were all killed by some alien force. When Superman finally regains the world's trust, he reforms the team with the next GL, Big Barda, and Hawkman and renames the team the JLU.

And as we saw in "The Call", they try to recruit Batman again for the team, but since Bruce is now too old, they go after Terry. And like in "Legacy", Superman once again must prove himself trustworthy with that alien taking over his body. Bruce knew of his "Legacy" events and how the consequences were the destruction of the original JL, so he supplies Terry with the piece of Kryptonite.

As of just seeing "Secret Origins" I think all the Batman cartoons and the Superman cartoons actually make sense at the moment if you tie them all together.

However, as the series pushes on, that might not be the case.

What do you think?

Hmm, is JL supposed to take place before or after Legacy? I know they weren't thinking about it when they wrote legacy, but it wouldnt make much sense if Superman was a member of JL and then no one from JL came to stop him when he went rogue.

I believe it was stated somewhere that the events in Legacy aren't taken into account at all during JL

Well, not so much that, but if they do touch upon Legacy, it won't be until season 2.

However, I did think we got a hint that it did happen, when Superman said "I've worked a long time to earn your trust." Now, I know he doesn't say "back", but I think it's still a nod to those that watched StAS.

My understanding is that unless something in JL contradicts something from BTAS or TNBSA it's still counts. So far the only episode that has been tossed you is "In Brightest Day" and that's only because Timm said so.

Plus there's the fact that that the first five minutes covered a span of three to four years. So that taken into account along with Supes line about building trust could mean that the world has moved on from the events of "Legacy."

And of course if what I hear is true the consequences of "Legacy" should start to unfold by the end of Season 1.
