I don't know if this is considered anime (since I think it was produced in China).
I decided to pick this up since I'm a big fan of CG and giant robots. The show itself is sort of a mixed bag.
The CG is some of the best I've seen in a while. Rivals even Mainframe quality. The robot-on-robot fight scenes are awesomely choreographed. Seriously, they totally rocked. I also love the mech designs in this show. Very imaginative and original designs.
This shows main weakness is its dub (as a matter of fact, its dub only). The dialogue is sometimes rather weak at times. At other times, it was too talkative. In the first episode, the language track was out of sync with the animation and soundfx. I can see its definitely pandering to the younger kids, but there is still stuff older people can appreciate
The plot is easy enough to follow: Kingdom is underseige by its supercomputer, Omicron Psy. The King travels back in time to prevent it from occurring. The King goes missing and his daughter, Megan, goes back in time after him. But something goes wrong and she ends up looking 8 years old rather than 15. She meets up with her father's half broken, but powerful robot, Zeus and together they try to stop Omicron Psy in the past.
One final note: I hate cute sidekick animals. Case in point: Megan's annoying pet, Mango. Hated every minute he was on screen. Annoyed the heck out of me. :p
Overall, I liked this series. It’s not perfect, but it’s a guilty pleasure nonetheless. 3 out of 5 stars.
