Ummm....wasn't Batman supposed to join the League? Or is he just on reserve statis? Could Timm and Co. ACTUALLY be leading into Batman Beyond? Could continuity ACTUALLY be an issue? The Batcave did look much more Batman Beyond than anything else. Anyway, if someone could get me the dirt on Batman's statis, that'd be super.

Thats intersting did he or did he not join? Batman kind of said heres your Watchtower call me when u need me then left. Im not sure about his status either. It's appears by the preveiws that he's not going to be in the next episode for sure.I really dont know at this point.

He'll be in there. He's in the title sequence, after all! Remember that most episodes will only be focusing on a few characters at a time. I took his announcement as his dark, brooding way of offering his help... it would have looked a tad cheesy if he shook hands with everyone else. He's a loner, after all.

Watch Batman Beyond: "The Call". Terry remarks that he's not a joiner. To which Superman says "Like your mentor..." or something like that. Batman is indeed a loner, during the events of JL especially. However, this can't take place after Tim Drake being forced to quit, because Joker would be dead. Hmm...could it be Batman left Batgirl, Robin, and Nightwing as a team and went semi-solo again?

When you think about JL, don't think about BB at the same time. One, because BB is a possible future. And two, because even if BB existed, it's not happening for awhile. But I just don't like them having guidlines on how everything has to work out (ie, showing the future). So try not to Put BB into JL just yet. It'll make your head expload.

Batman joined. He chipped in with the Watchtower, remember? He just wanted to keep up his appearances with his teammates--he's enormously possessive about his "creature of the night" image.

In The Call, one of the League members said that Batman never made it past "reserve" status. I was pretty sure he doesn't officially join just to keep that continuity.

I don't believe that there is a pressing need for JL to lead into the BB continuity, either directly or indirectly. If you feel the need, then feel free, but there's no reason to force the issue.
I like the idea of Batman being a quasi-member of the League. If you think about, he is the ONLY member with no super-powers at all. Put yourself in his boots: Wouldn't you feel just a tad out-of-place in there?
A good direction from here would be for Batman to see this as an opportunity to "keep an eye" on the League from the inside. Keep your powerful friends close and your powerful (potential) enemies closer...
Besides, can you imagine Mark Waid adapting his "Tower of Babel" storyline (in which Ra's al Ghul swipes a paranoid Batman's weakness files on the JLA) from the book to the toon? Now that would be a killer ep...
Oh, and draft Plastic Man! :D

It would be nice to see JL along the continuity as BB but, as stated, BB is but a 'possible' future for the JL and Batman.
Keeping continuity would be good considering the number of eps created for Batman and Superman that pretty much kept along the same line. Having JL fall outside of that continuity, or BB for that matter, makes following along from the beginning to the end of the Timm universe.
But, not following that continuity opens many doors that might not open as a result of following said continuity.
Just look at Star Trek and all the continuity issues the series' have encountered.
Don't freak out because Batman's not in one story line, notice Wonder Woman isn't either yet she's still in the League. Its all in the story, who it revolves around and how others may come into play. Batman maybe could have been worked into it, but a long long time ago Timm said one of the problems with the show is concentrating on each member, its simpler to just do a few at a time, and Batman is already such a loner. Don't worry, I think all seven members are in the Aquaman episodes (Enemy Below coming up after In Blackest Night).
