Cartoon Network's BOOMERANG Creates Holiday Stunt
To Celebrate Everything "Yogi Bear" -- Monday, Dec. 17, 8 a.m.
through Monday, Dec. 24, 8 a.m. (ET)

Celebrating the holidays with a weeklong tribute, BOOMERANG, Cartoon
Network's 24-hour classic animation cable/satellite network, will pay
exclusive commercial-free tribute to one of Hanna-Barbera's all-time
cartoon greats, the inimitable Yogi Bear. With more than 100 hours
of Yogi Bear programming available from the legendary Hanna-Barbera
cartoon library, BOOOMERANG will devote an entire week to the finest,
funniest shorts, series, movies and holiday specials featuring Yogi,
Boo Boo, Ranger Smith and other beloved animated friends. The
programming marathon will run from 8 a.m. to 8 a.m., Monday, Dec. 17 to
Monday, Dec. 24, 2001.

Highlights of the non-stop programming tribute include 144 seven-
minute Yogi Bear shorts from the original The Yogi Bear Show series
(1960-63), dozens of half-hour episodes from subsequent Yogi Bear
series-Yogi's Gang ('73-'75), Yogi's Space Race ('78-'79), Yogi's Galaxy
Goofups ('78-'79), Yogi's Treasure Hunt ('85-'88) and The New Yogi Bear
Show ('88-'91)-and seven feature-length animated movies starring that
"smarter than the average bear." Overall, the BOOMERANG marathon
will present 56 hours (8 hour blocks repeated three times per day) of
Yogi Bear programming across the seven-day period.

"This really is a television first, devoting seven straight, entire
days to just one character, and without commercial interruption," says
Mark Norman, senior vice president and general manager of BOOMERANG.
"Yogi Bear truly is one of America's pop-culture icons, and also
happens to be Joe Barbera's favorite character he ever created. This is
the perfect opportunity for Yogi Bear fans to enjoy an extensive
showcase of favorite episodes, as well as a chance for parents to
introduce the beloved character to their younger children."

Yogi Bear is Jellystone Park's most notorious resident with an
unyielding appetite for the contents of well-packed "pic-a-nic" baskets.
Amiable, inventive and ultimately shrewd, Yogi's goal of filling his
stomach with campers' edible goodies is in direct odds with the
equally determined and responsible Ranger Smith, who wants Yogi to keep
near his cave with shy sidekick, Boo Boo. The Yogi Bear Show originated
from single episodes featured within The Huckleberry Hound Show in
1958, and was promoted to its own show in 1960.

In addition to the spotlighted Yogi Bear series episodes, the
following films will be featured throughout the seven-day programming stunt:

Monday, Dec. 17 (2 p.m., 10 p.m.), Tuesday, Dec. 18 (6 a.m.)
Yogi's Ark Lark (TV-G)

foil their evil plans? Yogi's First Christmas features five musical

Scooby-Doo's Arabian Nights (TV-G)

wife. To stall, Shaggy tells the tale of a sailor named Sinbad (Magilla
Gorilla), who stumbles upon three great treasures, and the story of
Aliyah-Din and the Magic Lamp, featuring special guest genies, Yogi
Bear and Boo Boo. Although Shaggy's true identity is eventually
revealed, the Caliph is so intrigued by his stories that he invites Shaggy
and Scooby to stay on as Royal Story Tellers, with all the royal food
they can eat. Arabian Nights is a 1994 Hanna-Barbera production.

lifetime.

Sunday, Dec. 23 (11 a.m., 7 p.m.), Monday, Dec. 24 (3 a.m.)
Hey There, It's Yogi Bear (TV-G)

feature, Yogi and Boo Boo join up with Cindy Bear, Yogi's love interest,
to celebrate the coming of spring. Ranger Smith posts a "No Feeding
the Bears" sign in Jellystone Park, and Yogi tries to negotiate, but
instead gets sent away to a zoo. When Yogi sends another bear in his
place and becomes the "Brown Phantom," the real zaniness begins.
