View Full Version : Worst Episode
The New Batman

Which do you think is the worst (or a few of the worst) episodes from B-TAS, New Batman Adventures, New Superman Adventures, BB??
B-TAS: "Lock-Up" This episode was awful. It portrays someone who appears to be politically towards the right as a homicidal maniac. He was right though when saying that the "liberal news media" portrays criminals as heroes, which is unfortunately true of the real world for the most part. He also says the politicians are gutless, which is also true unfortunately of most public officials. The ending was also terrible, how did Batman defeat him in the water? "Showdown" Just a very boring episode in my opinion.
New Batman Adventures: I forget the title but it's the one with the giant bugs and the crazy farmer. This one was just awful and ridiculous.
New Superman Adventures: Any episode with Livewire. Enough said.
BB: None really, I enjoyed them all.
What do you think?..

I liked Lock-Up. My vote in TAS is tied between I've Got Batman in My Basement and The Mechanic. Poor Penguin gets placed in the worst episodes.
I think Critters runs away with the TNBA award.

The Demon Reborn sucked. it was definately the worst ep, as ive said before. yes, even worse than critters. heres why....
it had the potential to be sooo great, ras, bats, supes and talia. but they give us a really horrible ep. theres no excuss imo for such a lousy ep which is already great simply by whos in it.
bad animaton, horrible
campy dialogue. see the scene between bruce and lois, campy as hell, and the BIGGEST missed opportunity of the whole ep, they meet for the first time since worlds finest and it was campy and stupid as hell.
overall extremely rushed.
it was horrible, made me want to cry since i had such high expectations. in second would be "superman's pal".
for bb...
the last resort sucked so bad. i'd say that was the worst ep, even worse than sotlc.
btas:
either "moon of the wolf" or "the forgotten". but i havent seen the forgotten in so long, and the underdwellers in even longer, so i cant be sure on this one.
tnba:
critters was the worst, with torch song coming in a close second. remember, the demon reborn was a supes ep.
and overall out of all the series, i'd say demon reborn was the worst, hmmm, well maybe not as bad as the last resort. hehe, its all good. peace.

I liked Lock Up too. But Critters is absolutely terrible.
I guess great minds think alike! :p
Definitely "Critters." That episode was horrible. Come to think about it, most of "The New Batman Adventures" were mediocre episodes.

The classic episodes of BTAS were pretty much excellent, but most of the Joker episodes (Joker's Favor, Be a Clown, The Last Laugh, Christmas With The Joker) were pretty bad--they used too much restraint with a character who needs total chaos to function. I've Got Batman in My Basement was pretty bad too.
Let it be known that there were some very good TNBA episodes, but most of them were pretty bad:
Critters--no explaination necessary.
Joker's Millions--Joker was way out of character here.
Torch Song--The episode was a dumbed-down version of Mad as a Hatter.
Love is a Croc--My vote for the worst Batman episode. Not only was it a terrible pairing of characters, since when did Baby Doll know how to work a nuclear reactor? Her redesign (forsaking her "Tiny Toons" look) was a bad call as well.
As for Superman episodes, they all started to go downhill near the end of the run:
Warrior Queen--Maxima had a great concept in the comics--her royal bloodline genetically altered to take advantage of traits not available in her race (and she wanted to add Kryptonian DNA to her makeup--thus her infatuation with Superman). Their mishandling of the character was laughable (if you could stop cringing).
Heavy Metal & Superman's Pal--Terrible handling of Metallo; a character who was used so well at first. Plus, why was his skin ripped exactly the same as the end of The Way of All Flesh? Sloppy.
Where There's Smoke--They didn't have the guts to do the government conspiracy episode that they were leading up to. Making all the fault of that agent who was "continuing a closed project" was a cop-out.
Absolute Power--Superman would never abandon anyone to the mercy of anyone...especially fugitives from his own homeworld. Period.
The Demon Reborn--And it had so much potential.

Let's see:
Batman: The Animated Series "I've Got A Batman In My Basement" - Not only is it the worst 'intro' episode of all time, but the kids saving Batman? This episode was just a very pale kiddy version of B:TAS. There episode seemed liked it was forced. B:TAS was too smart of a show to have an episode where kids stumble onto a plot by the Penguin and eventually save the heroes. The episode seems so...Kids'WB!...
Batman: The New Adventures "Critters" - Crazy Bulls. Giant Grasshoppers. Chickens attacking blimps. This was quite possible the worst episode ever made. The only reasonit scores lower than Demon Reborn is becuase Demon Reborn had better animation.
Superman: The Animated Series "Unity" - Complete utter garbage. Terrible animation and a plot that went nowhere from the get go. There was hints of a good plot under all this muck, but it was ruined by bad dialogue and bad animation. This episode is just a hair under Superman's Pal and Warrior Queen.
Batman Beyond "The Last Resort" - 90210 in an insane asylum. It was just horrible. The action was badly paced, the script was ludicrous, and the animation was bad. Everything was just working against the episode.
That's my list - I know I'll think of more later probably...

BTAS: I've Got Batman In My Basement
TNBA: Critters
Superman: the one with the Monkey, don't remember the name.
Batman beyond: Too many to count

I didn't think "I've Got Batman in my Basement" is as bad as everyone seems to think it is. Sure, it's not A material, but it does give a few laughs here and there. Even though the script is kind of ridiculous, the Penguin has funny lines and I somewhat enjoyed it.

For BB I'd have to say it's the Warriors of the Last Cosmos or something like that, it was lame.
I too thought that the Critters ep was just plain silly. But the Demon Reborn, I've never seen the begining but I didn't think it was all that.
Oh yes, the Supes ep with the monkey had a lame ending.
