View Full Version : Greg Weisman to Produce W.I.T.C.H. Season Two

As he notes at Ask Greg:

http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/latest.php

He will be the producer of season two of W.I.T.C.H.

HOWEVER, as he also notes, this is contingent on W.I.T.C.H. doing well enough to get a second season (which isn't a surprise considering it hasn't even aried yet).

He has also written two upcoming episodes of Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go and he thinks his first episode of The Batman may be airing this Saturday.

Does Jetix (Disney) actually have that much fiath in it!!!! If it airs at 8:30 against Winx Club, it would be a good matchup, but who knows how it would go.

8:30 is locked in with Power Rangers, so I doubt it'll air there. I see it taking either one of Beyblade's spots or one of Digimon's spots.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Disney would never take away away their prized Power Rangers. Must be Digimon's spot since its now on for a hour.

I hope the first season will be succesfull...
BTW have seen an episode of Winx yesterday and I think think it's horrible, it looks dreadfull and very childish

Well, some out there were hoping that W.I.T.C.H. might be the best Disney animated TV show since Gargoyles, so I suppose this news seems appropriate.

Unless these people decide to quit after the first season, here's who Greg will be working with if a second season is made. I know it's not the most reliable resource around, but it certainly sounds like it could be the correct list of producers on W.I.T.C.H. from IMDB.

Trey Callaway .... consulting producer
Olivier Dumont .... co-executive producer
Nancy Neufeld Callaway .... co-executive producer
Andrew Nicholls .... executive producer
Darrell Vickers .... executive producer

well this is perhaps the best news to hear.. and in fact it's great to har it from you Will about Greg (Gargoyles) Weisman potentially returning to do W.i.t.c.h, if it does get a second season... After all Greg's a natural when it comes to sufficient storytelling and believe me, this is great news indeed..

Too bad though we can't get other older shows back on.. I still miss Gargoyles, but hey anything by Mr. Weisnman will be music (and storytelling) to my ears!

Speaking of witches, when is the show airing? I heard that it starts this month, or is that a preview?

If it does start this month, this year, I will have to record it, ergo, I will be needing tapes.

And you know what, I actually consider you lucky you get Rainbow's version of the show. You don't get the 4Kids version, which airs here in the USA and is said to have a lot of edits, which can make following the show very confusing at times.

The preview is supposed to be October 30th on ABC Family. It's just a "mini-sode," a clip from an episode of the show. The actual series is supposed to begin airing either in January or February in 2005.

Yah "The Power Rangers" you figure out of all shows "W.I.T.C.H" would replace that show seeing as how 1.it's not a cartoon 2. It's not even Disney 3. It's not Disney anything, not a Disney cartoon, nor a Disney show. Oh well why "Digimon? oh well just as long as they show season three before it's taken off of Toon Disney.

Well, judging from the MIPCOM Junior Top 30 Screened Program Lists, W.I.T.C.H. is in pretty good shape. You can view the list at http://www.mipcomjunior.com .It finished as the #6 screened program, and the only other one I immediately recognize is Atomic Betty at #8.

I'll give you one wild guess as to what show was #6 last year on that same list. And let's just say, based on that show's current status, W.I.T.C.H. has a pretty good shot at going past 26 episodes, with all the interest, especially in Europe, so I think Greg will have a job soon. :)

Yeah. 9:30 right after SRMTHFG! This how W.I.T.C.H. should be able to fit into the lineup, this ismy thinking that WINX Club will stay at 8:30 on FoxBox:

7 - Beyblade: G Revolution
7.5 - Initial D (need a new anime  )
8 - Power Rangers
8.5 - W.I.T.C.H.
9 - Dragon Boosters
9.5 - SRMTHFG!
10 - Digimon
10.5 - Spiderman & Friends/Unlimited (TAS on weekdays)
11 - Gargoyles
11.5 - X-Men

And by the way. Power Rangers is Saban. Disney owns saban. So, in the long run, Disney owns Power Rangers.

I think you're forgetting that W.I.T.C.H. has been around since April 2001 in comic book form, and it is pretty much a huge hit in most of Europe. I expect Wiseman to have a job because it's very likely we'll see at least two seasons of the show. :D

What exactly does the producer do? Does the producer oversee the direction of the show? help out in the writing/scripting?

The Comix also mentioned the series being aired next year in Holland...:)

Well, I won't be seeing the show. Cable gets cut in December (it's better than September), but it's still going to be sad to see it go. If only it didn't cost so darn much. 15-20 bucks would be decent. Maybe even get rid of the cable box, but nope. I'll just be watching local channels.
Well, since I don't know exactly where you live, I don't know if this would apply to you, but it's probably a good idea to keep an eye on this company that only charges $20 a month, but only offers Toon Disney, but hey it's better than nothing. They say they'll be expanding into new markets soon, so there's hope.

No hope. My parents are so hard to convince. The only way to keep it is if they forget, or decide to extend.

OR if they each think the other's going to call (like they did a few months ago, then decided to keep it until the end of the election), or if they don't look for the number in the phone book (maybe I should hide those).

They got Disney Channel, Toon Disney, ESPN, ESPN2 which are good. Discovery, Food Network and TLC (well, maybe not so much TLC) are all very wachable. FoxNewsChannel is good, but you do get local channels for news. Pretty good call, but I still say the best access is Adelphia, but the one downside is they dont offer Boomerang. :crying:

Yeah, but that doesn't make "Power Rangers" a Disney property. I still think "Power Rangers" on Toon Disney is stupid. Both "Power Rnagers Ninja Storm" and "Dino Thunder" are both stupid as hell and not at all funny. I don't care if Disney bought Saban, "Power Rangers" does not deserve a Toon Disney airing when actual Disney properties like "Bonkers", "Ducktales", "Quack Pack", "Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers", "Darkwing Duck" and "Pepper Ann" are being cut from the channel line-up.

Complain all you want, but Disney does own both the merchandising and TV show rights to PR. And your complaining still won't stop them from airing the next PR season, Power Rangers: S.P.D. this February on Toon Disney.

Honestly, I was tempted to spoil about this, but I believe I better don't, because the W.I.T.C.H. animation series haven't been aired yet, and in the US the promo's, mini-sodes and profile previews only. It just wouldn't be fair.
