Life is full of ironies, and why should cartoons be any different? That said, we've already discussed behind-the-scenes (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=108079) and storyline ironies (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=102194) before. Let's deal with the latter some more. We kick off again with:
1. "Phoebe's Little Problem", Hey Arnold!. Phoebe is refusing to go to school, ever again, all on account of the subsequent humiliation she received after she farted into an open mike... while she was accepting an award for perfect attendance in front of a crowd.
2. "Tim Visible", FOP: In a similar situation, Timmy is hiding from a bully... on a day he's supposed to be receiving a similar award to Phoebe's. The irony's not as strong in PLP, but still worth a mention.
3. "Chuckie's In Love", AGU!: A teacher says she once woke up on Christmas excited to be getting a puppy... and she ended up accidentally stepping on it ("and now he's history") when she ran to the tree to get it.
4. "Cool Party", HA!: Let's take a look at Rhonda's lists. Arnold's on the Cool List, so that would put Gerald on the same list, since he's clearly cooler. Nope... Gerald's on the Geek List, and the irony of that isn't lost on Nadine.
5. "Talent Show", The Weekenders: Lor is clearly no artist, and Tish clearly is. So upon hearing that Lor's in the city talent show, the other boys are surprised to hear that Tish ain't.
6. The TWT movie: Many levels of irony come into play here (so many that I won't even try to bold out the irony). Deborah is desparate to get the heck out of Africa. Eliza is definitely not so wild about it (no pun intended). Deborah is slinging mud about her sister's misdeeds, presumably to make their grandma think ill of her... but guess who ends up getting sent to Madame Beatrice's in London?
7. "Stinky Goes Hollywood" and "Stinky's Pumpkin", HA!: It's borderline, but the fact these two eps feature a guy who likes to say "It really bites", and yet don't feature said line anywhere in the dialog sounds promising...
8. "Three Girls and A Monster", PPG: Townsville has won an award for teamwork... and on that same day, Bubbles is 100% responsible for driving a monster out of town while the others bicker.
9. "Imperfection", TW: Of course, waaay back in the original thread, I pointed out that the only negative on Tish's report card is a comment concerning her insistence on perfection... and that the irony of this is not lost on her.
I could write about this all day and night, because cartoon writers love irony that much.
Okay, I'm following up on what is probably not the best thread idea in the world, but there you go.

Man, majority of those i didnt recognize. The only ones i recognized was Powerpuff Girls and Hey Arnold. And since the only one i watch was PPG, i still have to say i dont watch enough of the PPG to remember that episode.

Rover...why? Why do you keep repeating these same old useless facts about Nicktoons? I appreciate strong fandom, but these constant threads about ironies/cliches/etc aren't needed. They're fun everyonce in a while, but you've killed them. Please, just drop it with these redundant threads.
