I thank Inu Yasha and ATHF for this reasons ratings jump, but I do hope Adult Swim will keep it's top most watched ad-suppo9rted thing.

Unless it causes something other than needless gloating in the cards, I don't really think it's that great Tony the Tiger.

This has probably been discussed before, but I don't remember the answers to the topic, so bear with me.

If Adult Swim is getting these great ratings with young men, then why are so many of the ads on the block still aimed at kids? AS gets big ratings in such a key demographic, it seems like a waste that the block is filled with ads for Kids Bop and the Roc Writer. The ads that are for kids can't be pulling in too much revenue from advertising on the block, so why do the companies keep running them? Young men are the target audience for tons of companies, so why don't we see more of them advertising on AS?

A lot of those lengthier ads with 800 numbers are also to reach parents too, since parents are the ones who call those numbers to buy the toys for their kids.

Yeah, and I figure that has some success. But, really, with a (mostly) young male audience, are these really the most effective ads to be running?

AS does a lot to target the college crowd, and I can't imagine that crowd buys a lot of "drawing systems" or CDs for their kids. As I said, there are countless companies who try to target the exact audience Adult Swim (apparently) brings in so well, so why aren't they advertising on AS?

Who knows. First come first serve? Period of time committed to advertising? Someone like the Ionic Breeze might buy a year's worth of ads for all I know. AS probably accepts whoever can give them the most money upfront. And if they lose them, I'm sure another advertiser will come along. Another thing is AS only allows 10 1/2 minutes max of paid ads per hour. This is a lot less compared to most other networks which have 14-18, or sometimes even more. They could begin accepting more advertisers and decreasing the on-air promo spots, but then those on-air spots have to go somewhere to make up for it so people still know when AS programs come on, and that somewhere is usually in the programs themselves.

I mean, it seems like this is a golden advertising opportunity, and companies would be throwing themselves as AS. But if WS (or whoever handles ads) made some binding contracts when they were struggling to get advertisers, they may have to wait for the contracts to run up before they can make better advertising deals.

I also wouldn't be surprised if AS got a percent of the money made from the sales. It seems like that would fetch a good chunk of cash if the percentage was in the double digits.
