What characters are available on Mortal Kombat: Deception?

How many characters are available (when all of them have been unlocked, found, etc.) on Mortal Kombat: Deception? I'm thinking about buying the game, but before I do, I'd like to know how many characters there are.

One would think that, with Mortal Kombat being online for the first time, they'd have as many characters to choose from as possible!

Ah, I see. 24 characters! It's good, though I was hoping for something around 30-35. :p :D

Do you also know of a site that lists every Mortal Kombat character that's appeared in all 6 games? I wonder how many characters that is. :)
