this episode is...impossibly horrible. I haven't laughed once. The entire germ plot is beyond a bore. The bean killing the girl he was in love with was unexpected....but not in a funny way.
Im, normally a kind grader but I give this...an.....
F  you could do better Aqua Teens
Uhm, well "Spacecataz" was. . .uninspiring.
This episode started off kinda slow, but went into Bizarro-land after Frylock showing Shake the tape. Not bad, and it's been awhile since we've had a "initially insane concept turns progressively darker" episode (the last one that immediately springs to mind is "The Cloning" or maybe "Broodwitch"
Your "Shake funny-outfit" quotient continues, and that was the last funny things for what felt like a LONG time, because Germ Theater just KILLED this show's momentum (except for the Hulk thing) The talking file cabinets and walls were pretty good, but giving the rest of the episode over to the interior stuff resulted in something obviously invented before "fun."
Average, but not wretched. We're a long way from the promise "Robositter" showed. B-

dude!!!!
well, that was short.. let's see what the rest is about.. yeah, shake get in there already. aww, those are cute germs. aah, that was taped. my goodness, the file case is shake's new imaginary friend! and the wall! bet boxy brown is going to lay the smack down on them, maybe..
a whole sea of filing cabinets, i only have one. ehh. tough crowd. ahh, tulip sniper.. boy shake's already half dead. and then beans go in to shake.. hmmm.. well, awww, that was actually a nice little twisted, and fairly funny play on rumplestiltskin... the beans and the germs made. real nice. and violent.. and .. i'd say different. watchable again , even. tragic but funny. hmm. surprising stuff!
.. and then frylock went nutty with the germs.
80 out of 100 , not perfect, but a nice little piece and change of pace from the normal madness. and kind of unexpected, too.

what kind of crap was this? it turned into a stupid opera that wasnt even funny! this was horrible! the aqua teens were barely even in it, spacecataz was a waste, and carl was absent! this was worse than the new sealabs. worst episode ever!
I give this episode an F!

Worst episode ever.......ever.
Talk about a good waste of air space. I forgot I was watching Aqua Teen during that whole play. Besides the joke with the "Let down your Nose Hair" has already been done. Just not with racist humor, bloodshed, and zombies.
Even though I shouldn't say it, but I smell thread core in a few pages
This deserves credit simply for getting rid of another taboo. We keep this up, and Colorful might show uncut.
Unfortunately, the episode lacked quality. A new curse word cannot save this ep.

Was this an episode of Aqua Teens? I mean seriously what did I just watch? I thought a couple of this season's episodes weren't funny, but this one actually got to the point of being boring and riddiculously bad. I sort of laughed at the mexican bean and how he married a "more illegal" parasite or whatever. Still, didn't laugh much.

Forget all you guys, that was the only funny Spacecataz.
Other than that...pretty dreadful. Some of the weaker episodes are just "bad by ATHF standards," but this was bad by almost any standard. It felt like a mix of the later episodes of The Brak Show and Sealab. And that is definitely not a good thing.
I've said all the criticisms about the recent episodes multiple times before. So here are my feelings summed up in other ways:
   :(

This deserves credit simply for getting rid of another taboo.
Sealab used it in the Tornado Shanks episode. Seth MacFarlane used it on the first night of his week.
I think ATHF has now jumped the proverbial shark. Here's to hoping it either picks back up SOON, or goes down quickly instead of wallowing in a pool of it's own suck.

Once again, a funny beginning and ending with an unfunny (and completely different) middle. At least they tried something different, though. It wasn't a bad idea.

It's sad when Spacecataz is the best part of the episode.
Worse when Spacecataz's entire dialogue was "do".

I need a good cold one to wash this bad taste out of my mouth. I have to say, that was THE worst episode of ATHF I have ever seen, and ATHF is my favorite show on AS. I think that the writers smoked something really bad when they were putting this episode together. The end was pretty good, but the whole middle was a snooze fest. I wasted a good 11 minutes of tape on this episode. I'll just imagine that this episode never existed.

Well, while this had a consistent plot, it was paced horribly. The time felt REALLY wasted, with the lack of details sufficient enough to satisfy. Carl not being here was good and not needed, as it wouldn't have helped much anyway, and he shouldn't be overused(as we all determined long ago).
I'm not worried about it though. Cause though I was taping it and then went back and rewinded over what I taped after it was finished, the next episode is guaranteed to be good.

Even though I shouldn't say it, but I smell thread core in a few pages
i don't think that will happen. those deliberate, multi-page thread core disruption days should be over. we should be over all that sort of thread disruption and disturbance... despite how hilarious it would seem to overpost catbuses and owned signs and funny animated pics and disturbing images and posted chat logs and profanes which will inevitably just get the thread locked at certain limits.
all that madness ever gets the last to get involved in a core disrupted thread, is a temp ban.
we should all be better than that. we should all move on. no more thread disruptions.. just discuss in peace.

That wasn't Aqua Teen, right? Half the episode devoted to some bean play that wasn't even funny?
It's like they were TRYING to be unfunny on purpose. But at least Spacecataz was funny.
But, damn, this looked so good on paper...

Well, true to form, I didn't hate it as much as the rest here, but I'll admit the "play" part didn't bring much lol; I guess I was enjoying the drawings too much to judge the comedy on that one.
Also true to form, I got disappointed when the gross stuff began there (though I don't mind the gunshot part). Hell, the nosehair gag was ripped off from Ren & Stimpy!
I did think the Aqua Teen parts of it were funny. Surprised all the a-holes got through (though, as noted, they've done it before). Great zonked-out Shake "look". Loved the talking everything in the "real"-world setting.
I tuned in alittle late, so I missed Spacecataz. No wonder! I suspect it was short in order to fit them all into the ATHF episodes. If so, better they just use them up and do Dr. Weird for the remainder. Having said that, and having missed that part, I bet the ultra-quick Spacecataz was funny.

Dude, most of the ATHF episodes were decent, but this is such a surprise to me that IT SUCKED! It absolutely sucked. Spacecatazz was great, but then we see things about the hypnogerms and then it goes into some long stretch of Hypnogerms and beans and nothing else.

I thought the whole Master Shake going insane thing was done well until it turned into some crappy bean opera. I have to agree on you there. The episode would have worked much better if they kept with the idea of Shake seeing various objects talk and have him do dumb things rather than have an Off-Broadway musical in Shake's mind that, while it was somewhat "WTF" material and had it's moments, was more of a time waster.

Spacecataz: DUDES...
Don's Thoughts: This episode was good about the whole Branson, MO thing like Shake mentions Charles Bronson(RIP) & Shake tripping including when he was a lounge singer. Then there was Meatwad saying ******* was a mix of shocking & predictable. But the Romeo & Juliet rip-off play made from the jokes direct hit to hit or miss depending how you feel of hispanic stereotypes, but the Narrator & the nose hair thing were funny. But man I hated that Bean Wizard because he kept hogging his scene. But the zombie was classic, then Shake turns into a Mexican. And the ending was so predictible it was funny.
Grade: :shake::shake::shake:.5

I'm going with the majority on this one. The episode as a whole wasn't too good, and the bean play was pure garbage.
I should be able to make up a letter because an F doesn't cut it. Sadly, my keyboard doesn't work the way I want it too. So instead, I'll give it a -F. That's a negative F. It's the closest I can get, I guess.

Such a shame that this episode had the potential to be so much better. Too bad they focused too much on the damn play instead of Aqua Teens. The only good thing I got out of the play scene was when Pancho got shot in the head.;)

I loved all guest stars they had. The play was really funny. Craig Hartin said the episode ran long so they cut the Spacecataz intro down. The finally will be great, I can't wait.
Jesus christ, what is wrong with you people? I didn't find one thing wrong with this episode. It was just as good as any other ep, despite the fact that the Aqua Teens weren't in most of it. I was smiling and laughing through the entire episode. Now I come here, and see all these "omg it wuz so st00pid, F-". You have to be friggin kidding me. Well you see, over the course of time people have developed the ability to form these things called opinions. The way opinions work is that a person watches/reads/eats/smokes something and they make a judgement on it. This judgement is usually influenced by an individual's preferences. But here's the kicker, people have differing preferences so when they form an opinion on something it will most likely conflict with someone else's opinion. Isn't that crazy?

Decent beginning. The Spacecatazz opening would have been funnier if the deleted "Happy Birthday Snake" scene on ATHF vol. 2 hadn't pulled the same gag. It lost me when the bean/germ off-braodway play began. Not even the Mexican bean zombie could save it.
And I love zombies.

The majority have discussed how they have liked pretty much every episode up until this one. I know I have. We've given our reasons for why we don't like this episode, maybe you can explain why you do like it, that's what this board is here for. I didn't like it because it strayed away from the Aqua Teens to focus on those unfunny beans and germs. Hey if they were funny, I wouldn't have complained. And like someone else said "Where's Carl?!?!" There's been a few episodes w/ little Carl or no Carl that were decent and good, but like I said this one was just boring and not very funny.
P.S. I was one of the few who actually didn't mind the Groovenians, you don't see me *****ing about no one else liking it.

GOD I hate when people sarcastically explain what an "opinion" is. That's the oldest, lamest defense on the internet. I'm pretty sure Curt is not an idiot and knows what an opinion is, esspecially because HIS ENTIRE POST WAS CLEARLY AN OPINION ITSELF AND HE MADE NO ATTEMPT TO INDICATE OTHERWISE. If you think he stated one word of it as "fact" you either can't read or you're one of those jerks who require all opinions to be carefully labeled. I disliked the episode and see nothing at all wrong with his post. Lighten up, people.
If he had put "IMO" or "IMHO" on the end of all his sentences your responses to him would've been entirely different or you just wouldn't have taken it personally enough to respond at all.

I tried to like this episode. The non-germ parts (outside of Shake's brain) were okay, especially the flatulating eyeball part at the end. But the whole bean opera was a little slow and unfunny. Oh well, there's bound to be a few episodes now and then that don't really hit it off.

On a side note, several months ago Dish Network was using a generic description of the series for episodes that didn't have a name or description when the schedule first was sent to them. That description: "Shake catches schizophrenia from the toilet seat."
Anyway, this episode was going great until they switched to the bean opera. I can't believe they didn't think that was a bad idea!

"Bad off Broadway plays"? That sounds fun to make fun of, why didn't they? I mean I know they had a sort of fairy tale parody (Rocko and Dexter and even the Simpsons did this better) but was this a intended as a parody of bad off Broadway plays? Have the writers ever seen bad off Broadway plays? Have the writers seen an off Broadway play? If the episode had actually made fun of bad off Broadway plays then we could have had an inspired parody... not a dumb cliche Sealabesque one. The first half was okay, I liked it for the most part, if they had built it up a little instead for going for the bad parody this could've been a good episode.

Often with TV shows people create opinions that a certain show has ended too quickly or the show has gone on one year too many. The writing on ATHF is tired and uninspired. This is the long depression after the pinnicle of the series. Once there were funny situations that existed with brilliant dialogue, but they've all been long abandoned for cheap sight gags and insipid lines.

I hate to say it, but this was the first ATHF is 50-some-odd episodes that was actually bad. There have been a few episodes that weren't really up to par, but last night was the first that I was tempted to just turn it off. I missed the 9PM show because of the baseball game (Go Sox!!) and had to stay up till midnight to watch this crap. Like a lot of ATHF episodes the parts with the Aqua Teens was pretty good, but it went on some godawful tangent which absolutely sucked. I was the one who *****ed a few weeks ago about all the negativity for AS, but I'm about to hop on that bandwagon after this debacle.
Note to Matt and Dave: Please, please, don't turn this show into Sealab. With Tough Crowd going away it would make a crappy ATHF even harder to tolerate.
Tobias

I can usually find something enjoyable in even the worst ATHF eps like 'Unremarkable Voyage', but that wasn't the case this episode. It's pretty sad when a 1/2 second Spacecataz segment outdoes an 11 minute episode.
