Does anybody remember/know an old anime about a baby unicorn who gets captured by some spirit woman, is taken to our world and befriends a cat that gets turned into a girl?

UNICO!!!

I loved that anime. This one is one of the many by Osamu Tezuka. I got crazy for this 80s anime when i was a freshman in college (nostalgia is fun). There were three movies. The one your thinking of was "the fantastic adventures of unico". The second, which few people ever saw was "unico and the island of magic" These two were translated, but the third one, "black cloud and white feather" never was. What's even worse is that they are all out of print on both sides of the pacific.

The news gets even better, it's only available on e-bay once in a while and when it is it goes for quite a high price. You'd probably ending up bidding at least $60 on a good day to get ahold of this title. You can find it on bootleg if you're willing to go that route. I did, so I have both the available dubbed movies. I would gladly buy them if they were available on dvd or even on vhs. That was a great anime, i always loved little unico when i was a kid.

Oh indeed you're right! I remember it was the first anime I ever saw and it still had a vague place in my heart.
