The Early Worm Gets the Bird?

What is so contrevertial about "The Early Worm Gets the Bird"? I've heard something about a Jerry Colona worm but I'm not sure what it's about. I don't remember if I've seen it. I ask this because I saw it listed on a tape of racial cartoons.

"The Wacky Worm" has the Jerry Colonna worm and the raven, "The Early Worm Gets the Bird" has a family of stereotypical "black" birds.
