Howdy,

Image Comics solicitations for January (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=4305) are up at ComicBookResources.com. I think January is going to be an ugly, ugly month...

Highlights for me:

Beyond Avalon #1: A new on-going series centering on Megan, daughter of King Arthur and the only child born on the mystical island of Avalon. Cool concept and a great cover (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview.php?image=solicits/image012005/big/BA01_ad.jpg) has my curiosity piqued.

(Grumble...CBR doesn't let you link images...)

Four Letter Worlds TPB: A short-story anthology with creators like Chynna Clugston-Major, Matt Fraction, Robert Kirkman, B. Clay Moore, Jeff Parker, Jamie S. Rich, J. Torres, Steve Griffin, Steve Lieber, Phil Hester, and Scott Morse. This may get axed if the monthly bill looks too big, but it looks promising.

Freedom Force #1 (of 6): Yes, it's a comic based on the computer game. I'm a Mac user, so I don't get to play City of Heroes (maybe a good thing :)), but I DO get this pitch-perfect echo of the Silver Age, now licensed to Image apparently. Don't know that it's enough to get me to buy this comic, though.

Negative Burn: Best of TPB: Vaguely heard of this, but this is the name-check in the solicitiation text: "NEIL GAIMAN, BRIAN BOLLAND, ALAN MOORE, P. CRAIG RUSSELL, DAVE JOHNSON, DAVE GIBBONS, EVAN DORKIN, PHIL HESTER, ARTHUR ADAMS, EDVIN BIUKOVIC, BOB BURDEN, ZANDER CANNON, MARK CHIARELLO, GUY DAVIS, MICHAEL GAYDOS, DANIJEL ZEZELJ, DARKO MACAN, MIKE WIERINGO, TERRY MOORE, PAUL POPE, ANDREW ROBINSON, JIM MAHFOOD."

Oh yeah. I'm there.

Tomb Raider #50: Last issue, penned by She-Hulk scribe (and occasional poster here) Dan Slott. That's good enough for me.
