If you don't know already, MTV2 has a series in which they take various video game characters and then have them cover popular music videos. I don't have MTV2, so I can't judge all the videos. However, there are several videos ready for your viewing pleasure on the series website:

Based on what I've seen, I think this is a fantastic concept. While some of them are pulled off extremely well (i.e. Evanescence by Bloodrayne and Stacy's Mom by the Sims), there are others that are a tad lacking (the crossover videos just didn't appeal to me). It does seem though that the game series that MTV2 does use is a bit restricting and I suspect it's because all the games are from the same developer. If these guys could use more game characters from different developers, then this series has the potential to be extremely awesome. We've all seen Yuna do something like this in Japan, so why not have all the Gullwings in on it for another band? Or maybe there are other characters you'd like to see test out their musical stuff.
What do you guys think of this series? Is it good? Bad? Does it have potential?
Are there certain video games that you think would make excellent covers to certain songs?
Let's find out, shall we? Post your opinions here.
