hey all. ive been meaning to post this for a few weeks. i recently got all 7 JL 10" figures, and i think they are awesome. theyre so cool. they are the ultimate toys, imo, cause they are just so nicely sculpted, since theyre the molds from the maquettes, but theyre better than the maquettes, imo, because they have both a statue AND toy quality about them. they are just visually very stunning and cool. for some odd reason they remind me of these 7 dwarf toys i had when i was a tot, that were sculpted in a similar fashion.
now, we all know, or atleast it appears, that the maquettes designs were taken right from the JL model sheets (maybe w/ minor changes), ie, bruce timm's drawings! now, wouldnt it be amazing if they made more 10" toys (or maquettes first then the toys, however they do these things) of many more character, BASED ON BRUCE TIMM'S MODEL SHEETS? think about it. im not talking JLU, im talking pure JL. how about an exo-suit luthor, maquette 10" style? how about an entire injustice gang, joker, grundy, copperhead, all basically appearing the way they do on the model sheets, but in jumbo toy form?? imagine having them all lined up on your shelf! i think that would be soooo awesome.
here's the ones i'd love to see in 10" form, or even in the smaller action figure form, but maquette style, on model, you know:
the injustice gang:
Exosuit Luthor
Joker
Grundy
Copperhead
Star Saphire
The Shade
Cheeta
The Ultra Humanite
I''d be happy if they just made these villian to go along with the 8 heros, but since we're on the subject, lets just get crazy here
Felix Faust
Dr. Destiny
Amazo
Vandel Savage
Gorrilla Grodd
Sukari
Dr. Fate
Darkseid
Orion
Lobo
Basically thats it, but more would be great. im talking pure JL, not JLU. anyway, does anyone understand what i'm saying about the 10" toys? does anyone agree about how stunning they are and how they work on so many levels? again, i'd just wish theyd make an injustice gang series, EXACTLY in the fashion they made the JL, maquette style. peace.
I saw the Superman one in the shops and thought "that it?" Seemed a bit...."off", I mean the J'onn one is dark dark green, right? Can't put my finger on what the Superman one lacks. How different looking are the others?
And I'll ask it here - is this forum a good place to get discussions on the Super Powers toyline going or not?
I totally agree with DerekPowers! I also have the 7 JL 10" action figures and i love them...right now i have my AQUAMAN in my office, next to my monitor...Everybody loves it...since i have 2 sets (one in their boxes and 1 for display out of them) i take them everywhere! Cant wait to get Hawkgirl !!! It would be great if they would release more of the 10" line!!!! Villains would be cool, but i want also some of the new members of the JLU, such as Green Arrow, Atom, Cap. Atom, Supergirl, etc...actually i will buy every single 10" they dare to release...i love the line!!!!

I agree as well, they are some of the best figures I’ve ever bought. I have both the maquettes and the figures and I personally think the 10’ inch look a lot better than the maquettes. Esp. Wonder Woman, the maquette just never looked right to me. My other Wonder Woman maquette, from the WB store release, looks much more like WW IMO.
By the way have any of you seen the Green Arrow maquette, looks freaking awesome!! I hope they continue the maquettes and the 10’ inch line

HOT!!! that is freakin awesome! see, what worried me about the JLU toy line is it seemed they were using spare parts and stuff to make the new characters, rather than just scaling down maquette molds, like they did w/ the original 7, or 8 that is. but if there's a maquette, then hopefully the toy will be that same style, plus we'll hopefully get a 10" out of it.
like for example, the darkseid, lex, and ultrahumanite figures WERENT scaled down maquettes, and for that, imo, they just dont fit w/ the rest of the JL figures that are. they just have a totally different look to them, you know what i mean? so like a 10" darkseid based off the toy would sort of be lame, imo. i want maquette molds, based off model sheets by bruce timm, you know? so hopefully they'll scale down the GA maquette for the toy and also make a 10" one too. and HOPEFULLY theyll make some villian maquettes based off the model sheets and then use those as blueprints for future 10" toys and the regular toys. hell, if theyd just make a mold for the toys based on the model sheets thatd be fine, it doesnt have to be a maquette first, but i just want them all in matching style, which is on model designs based on the original model sheets.
thanks harley for posting that link! peace.

When it comes to toys of any size, Justice League has been a wasted opportunity to have a toy line that could have been a collector's paradise (like the old "Super Powers Collection" of the early 1980's, but better). C'est la vie, I suppose. :(
Which of the SP ones did you have, Squall?

Well, when I was a kid, the Super Powers Collection and (Generation 1)Transformers were my obsessions; both collections were impressive!
I still have, and actually spent some spare time in college finishing my Transformers collection (I have almost every figure from 1984-1986 toy lines).
As for my Super Powers Collection, I sold the whole thing on eBay halfway through college to pay for tuition & books, etc. I had every vehicle and playset, and was only about four figures short of having every Super Powers figure as well. So, I sold it on eBay in a single auction as a near-complete collection. I got some good money for it too!

I'd like these toys more if they didn't look like maquettes. they're stiff and have no personalty. Some more poseablilty would be nice (they have like, what, 5 joints?) to add variety.
Don't get me started on the hiddeous Teen Titans figures O_o
