You know, with the popularity of anime characters from shows like Dragon Ball Z, Gundam, Pokemon, and Evangelion and the classic Looney Tunes characters, you knew that some ad executives would try to cross genres sooner or later.
Of course, most Looney Tunes fans always figured that it'd happen later.
It's happening sooner than you think.
Warner Bros. and Sanrio Company announced that they're creating a joint licensing and retail promotion featuring WB's Tweety and Sanrio's Hello Kitty characters, the first time two major character creators worked together to co-market two popular characters.
Unfortunately, if you're a fan of these two characters, you're going to have to go to the land of the Rising Sun (that'd be Japan) when the campaign launches in March, which will also include Sanrio-designed Tweety items.
Oh, and if you want to know the "ad geniuses" who came up this one, that'd be a team led by Dan Romanelli, President of Warner Bros. Worldwide Consumer Products.
