What does everyone think of the new Star Wars trailer? It showed a lot of strong moments and definitely seems to indicate a darker movie. Episode II should be impressive.

I hope it's better than Episode 1, I thought it was pretty weak. Same with the title for Episode 2. "Attack of the Clones"? Give me a break.

Well, Episode I ranks up there in a tie with Empire for my favorite of the Star Wars movies. But this one looks like it may be even better!

I think that part of the reason why Episode I might have been so light may have been because Lucas knew that he was going to make the next couple of episodes very "dark." That way the more peaceful nature of the galaxy before Vader and Clone Wars makes it clear just how much the later events mess everything up and make it a much more dangerous place.

Right om, Tully! That's the case. You know Episode II isn't gonna have a happy ending, and the ending for Episode III will probably be very much a downer, aside from the (hopeful) emergence of Luke and Leia in the end...

Actually, the title "Attack of the Clones" is in the same vein as "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." Lucas clearly used with the same approach when naming all three.

I'm just hoping that Darth Vader takes on the Jedi Council at some point in the next two films. Dark Vader vs. Samuel L. Jack--I mean, Mace Windu will be cool.

(Insert Pulp Fiction joke here).

Wonder what people thought about the title "The Empire Strikes Back" when that film came out?

Saw the trailer a few minutes ago, and it seems like it's going to be aimed toward the *gulp* Titanic crowd with the romantic overtones.

Off-topic (slightly), did anybody the Episode One homages (the podracer sequence and the Anakin/Darth parallels) on ReBoot today?

They didn't show the Star Wars trailer in the theater I went to to see Harry Potter. Some people were very upset by it...but there was an absolutely hilarious Monsters Inc. trailer....:D

Even though the trailer was very quick to show who the Sith Lord was with the red light saber, I know already that it's Christopher Lee's character, but I don't remember his name off the top of my head right now. The trailer looked very good and I can't wait till' next May. BTW, at the end of the trailer, one person clapped for the Star Wars trailer, but when they showed the Scooby-Doo trailer, everyone clapped and cheered when it finally showed Scooby at the end. Of course the 60% of the audience were kids.

i was very impressed w/ the trailer. i could tell this will be better than episode 1. i think that episode one will seem better once this and the last one are released, because you can see them all together and stuff. it cool that theres a star wars for our generation, i really feel connected w/ the characters already, and i'm not even that big of a star wars fan. but i have a few qs..

is jar jar going to be in aotc?

and how old is anakin in this film?

but i did have a few complaints about the trailer. it was weird to see jimmy smitz and christopher walken in star wars. whats with that. im sure it will be fine, but right now they just seem out of place, i mean the other sw movies didnt have so many famous acters in it. they seem somewhat out of place.

I don't recall seeing either of the two in the trailer. Are you sure they were in it?

Though that's not really the basis for the scenes. The romance between the two is going to play a major part in turning Anakin down the the wrong path.

Christopher Walken is not in the movie. He was in the fan trailer that came out a while back.

Also keep in mind the first trailer is supposed to focus on the romance between padme and anakin. But it's just one of many plots that are dealt with in the movie.

Jar Jar was in the trailer, when Obiwan and Anakin meet Padme in her little nifty senator pad, Jar Jar is breifly seen backing off when Obiwan is walking in. I don't like Jar Jar but thats an answer to is he in it. And as for Darth in Episode III, it says he'll only be Darth in all his evil breathing glory for like seven minutes, which would be enough for neato lightsaber battle. They released a plot for episode III awhile ago that Im pretty sure will turn out to be fan made or something where Vader, a cloned Darth Maul, some of the Jedi council who turned to the dark side, and Palpatine are on the Millenium Falcon for a final battle with Obiwan, Yoda, and Mace, adding irony to the fact the Falcon ended up being such a legendary ship after it was a headquarters for the sith. I doubt it though, Lucas hasnt even written the script. So who knows how much time the true Darth Vader will have in ep III.... I think Attack of the Clones will be really cool with Jango Fett, the Slave 1, and Anakin's saber battles which I don't think had enough emphasis in the trailer. I guess they tried the love scene stuff to attract the crowd this time, I hope it smashes everything at the box office.
