Was Mongul design's based of Darkseid? I noticed that he almost looks like Darkseid in both the cartoon and comic continuity. I know Thanos was based of Darkseid.

I don't think that Mongul was based directly on Darkseid, but over the years they kind of started to look like each other. I could be wrong, of course...
