hey i was reading nintendo power magazine and found an add for a game called amazing island, it looks cool, you create and battle monsters, is anybody else going to get the game?

Nintendo power gave it bad ratings so i'm not getting it. looks weird too

i just started reading it...
I was thinking of renting it to see what kind of monsters I could create, but I really have no intention of buying it unless I really like it.

Amazing Island is skippable
the monster creation tool is very limited, while you can change the skin ala Animal Crossing, there's really no limitless customisation

I'd say its more like you don't know how to use it. I've seen some pretty good monsters made. An Optimus Prime, Samus from Metroid, Carmen from South Park. A number of characters that just border of copy right infringement. While they won't look that good, they will look close enough for you know what kind of cartoon turned monster you are looking at.

Heck i've made my characters in Animal Crossing walk around like the YATTA people, AI's editor is similar
you can make them look close enough to anything if you're talented enough
