I'm pretty new here and I was wondering if something like my sig is permissible. Since it uses japanese characters they may not show up properly and people may have to download the pack, if this is a problem I can remove it but I wanted to check before getting into trouble w/ the mods for screwing up threads.
I don't think you'll get in trouble since I've seen some people use japanese symbols in their title.
In case anyone can't read it, here's how I solved it. All I did (I use WinXP) was change the region to Japanese and it prompted me to insert my WinXP CD. It loaded the files, and now it reads just fine. That's a quick XP fix, but I'm not sure if it works for all OS' that easily.

It was a while ago that I did it, I'll admit) was by right-clicking on the Web Browser window, selecting Encoding>Japanese. Now, that's just for reading Japanese Web Pages.
If you actually want to type in Japanese, you will need the WinXP CD...
(Edit: Oh, I see that you already found the WinXP CD... Oops. :o )

Actually if you go to ur regional settings in XP and install japanese as a language a little icon should show up in ur taskbar that says EN, you can change it to JP and type in katakana or hiragana, and then convert to kanji. That's how I put it in there in the first place.
