Since the Dreamcast is fading fast I though some of you might want to see how big of a diffence the Dreamcast is to SEGA's first system the SG-1000 and SC-3000 both are basicly the same the SG-1000 is just a console version of the SC-3000 (Or is could be the other way around I'm not sure which came first). They were released in the early 80's so they do predate the NES.

Anyway check out some screen shots here Sega Super Control Station (SF-7000) (http://www.smspower.org/museum/sf7000/) (The SF-7000 is another story, it is kinda like the 32X for the Genny but trust me those screen shots are just like those from a SC-3000 and SG-1000)

And you can find details on the computers specs here www.old-computers.com (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=206)

Oh and Obscure Pixels (http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~pinwhiz/sc3000.htm) has some cool stuff on it too

Whoa, those were the days.

I never had Sega's first system, but I remember the joys of atari and this little computer type video game system that I never could get to work, oh wait, that wasn't joyful at all.

video games have really progressed, havent they?

Both were done in 1985 but natch the SMS version which was released in 1986 (choplifter was a launch title) looks a lot better on the more powerful SMS then on the old SG-1000/SC3000. It shows how much more powerful the SMS is and the SMS was released only 3 years after the SG-1000/SC3000.
