Temper, Temper. Mrs. Meany has a "condition" and can't control her temper for the life of her. Her doctor tells her that she must relax, so she tries--but Woody's practicing for the Highland Games keeps disrupting her rest.
*The doctor is a caricature of Don Knotts, but the voice is terrible--couldn't they get Jeff Glen Bennett?
*The plot sounds vaguely Avery-ish, but I'm not sure about the execution. Also the ending--with Woody diddling in Mrs. Meany's brain and switching wires--was a bit grotesque.
*It seems this new series spends too much time dwelling on Woody's Scottish heritage...and Wally's Swedish one. Every Wally script has at least one, often lame, Swedish joke in it.

The Legend of Rockabye Point. Classic Avery! From IMDb:
"The old fishing boat captain tells the story of Chilly Willy, a singing polar bear and a bulldog who quickly falls asleep when he hears a lullaby." Called by one reviewer a "forgotten classic". I wonder if the producers ever considered airing another Avery or even a Hardaway along with these newer shorts?

Crash Course. Winnie sells her big-screen TV for money to buy lessons from a champion aviator, but teleholic Woody schemes to manipulate her into asking for a refund to buy it back.
*Possibly an homage to Hardaway's "Ace in the Hole", but with the addition of the ace with the ridiculously long foreign name "Don't call me 'Susan' !") and a sequence in outer space.
*It's never quite clear what Winnie is--Woody's friend? girlfriend? twin sister? And whose kids are Knothead and Splinter, for that matter?

Winnie is intended as Woody's girlfriend.
Knothead and Splinter are Woody's nephew and niece, but only adoptively so. When first introduced in the comics (1952), they're not blood relatives; just orphan kids whom Woody must mind after saving them from a hungry family of tigers.

Were Winnie, Knothead, and Splinter ever used in a Lantz Cartune?

Winnie was the object of Woody and Buzz Buzzard's affection to take to the High School "Sock Hop" in "Real Gone Woody". I think Knothead and Splinter play Hansel and Gretel in the Woody cartune "Get Lost". K&S were indeed in many episodes of the prime time WOODY WOODPECKER SHOW.

BTW, this episode of Woody wasn't a new one, it was an older one from the first season.

Knothead and Splinter also appeared in the 1960's cartoon "Three Little Woodpeckers", which was Walter Lantz's favorite of all of his cartoons. I think June Foray did both voices.
