**Usually, Mynd Hed does these type of threads, but I decided to put this up before people began to ask since there was no Anime of the Month for last month (September). If the mods feel that this is none of my business, please let me know.**
After a month long absence from the forums, Anime of the Month has returned. Anime of the Month is meant to highlight Japanese anime that might not otherwise get any exposure, and allow everyone to expose themselves to something new that they might not otherwise have seen. The rules and guidelines will follow as they always have:
- Only one anime nomination per board member will be accepted. Any other nominations after your first one will be ignored (don't even ask).
- Multiple nominations of the same title will be taken into account when deciding what should go on the poll. Granted, should more people nominate one title over another, the title with the most nominations will probably be the one selected for this month.
Other criteria goes as follows:
* Previous Anime of the Month titles cannot be nominated, thereby ruling out the following: Excel Saga, GTO, Read or Die, Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances), Witch Hunter Robin, X TV, Noir, Last Exile, Haibane Renmei, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Kiddy Grade, Fruits Basket, Azumanga Daioh, Saikano, Tenchi Muyo GXP, and Millennium Actress.
* Any anime that has been shown or is currently scheduled to be shown on American television during the past few years (mostly ruling out any anime on G4TechTV, Cartoon Network, Fox Kids, International Channel, etc.) is ineligible, since it probably doesn't need any more exposure than it already has.
* Only anime that has been officially released in the U.S. can be nominated (Sorry fansubbers, but to keep everything legitimate at ToonZone, fansubbed titles are ineligible for the sake of avoiding any legal issues).
* Anime television series, feature-length movies, and OVAs are all equally acceptable. In the case of releases spanning multiple DVD and/or VHS releases, though, the first volume will be discussed primarily in an effort to minimize costs for those who wish to participate. Later releases may be discussed, but spoilers beyond the first volume should be omitted or placed in spoiler tags.
Any other questions, comments, or suggestions may be discussed here if it's towards improving the selection process in this thread.
Now, are there any nominations for Anime of the Month?
