I was on the news page and I noticed something about a new Superman game for Playstation 2. Now, I never played the first Superman Playstation game that everyone seemed to loathe, but the new designs seem pretty good for this one.

So, how do the fans and gameplayers feel? Are you hopeful? Since Batman: Vengeance seems to be a hit, are you hoping this new game will follow the same style? Use the voice actors from the show and write a decent storyline? Are you fearful because the last Superman game wasn't good or did you enjoy the other one? Discussion time :)

That Superman animated game sucked, IMHO. I played it once and was glad we just rented the game. The control was difficult and some of the "mission" were hard to totally complete. Add in goofy flying motions and dialouge and you've got a major disapointment. Hopefully they can use what they've learned with Vengence to make a better game...

they have info for it on the newspage. Looks pretty decent. But for some reason Superman has no mouth and his chin doesn't look quite as manly. He also looks a little skinnier over all. But all in its looks promising. I didn't see a name to what company will be making it. Anyone know?? Anyone if it will come to gamecube???

No official word yet, but GC is still compiling its games list for 2002. Call it a newsmans hunch, but Im fairly sure you'll see the game based on Supes comic adventures (rumored to be based on Ed McGuiness art!) on GC if not the animated one too.

Infogrames now has the Superman license. They also have Looney Tunes.

Thats EVERYONE'S opinion, I never got to play it, I had PS instead of N64 and it never was released on PS either due to bad sales or bad reviews. So the facts and opinions are there, Superman sucked on N64, lets hope the new company learned a lesson.

And the game was full of glitches. Crummy controls plus worse camera angles made Supes go through walls and the ground. I remember once there was a laser forcefield blocking my path, and i had to shut it off to save Lois, who i could see trapped. Well, something happened and the game glitched me through a wall. I was then able to simply walk around the forcefield, because i was in a land that wasn't supposed to exist.

The really funny part is that Lois was supposed to be taken to another room when the forcefield was shut off. But then once you got to a certain point, she was supposed to run out of harms way.

Well, since i never actually shut off the forcefield, i saw two Loises; one still waiting for me to turn off the forcefield, and one who was running away.

But since the forcefield was still there, and i couldn't control the glitches to let me through, i was stuck seeing her get into more danger.

Maybe you just had to be there:p

I hope they do a good job. If they can make it as good as Vengeance, then they'll have a great game.

Actually, this game was announced at E3. There wasn't any information on it or screens, and in fact Interplay was only showing clips of the animated series at its kiosk.

But I'm hopeful. First off, it's being made by a different company... the craptacular Superman game was made by Titus, this one is by Interplay (which did a great job with Sheep Raider).

Secondly, I talked to the Interplay rep, and he, with no provocation, told me that "Well, since the first Superman game was so horrible, we thought we could do a lot better."

The N64 Superman game is tied for the worst N64 game of all time with ROTJ and Carmageddon 64.

...and lo, the two threads shall become one, and there was much rejoicing.
