Have you heard of Mugen?Mugen is a DOS,Linux,or Windows game that is a free 2-D fighting game were you can get characters of the internet,theres the original DOS version and the late WIN version aswell as a Linux version,I learned about this game the hard way,first a nerd named Patirck charged me $3.00 for the game and then wanted some Yu-Gi-Oh! cards for some extra characters,months later I gave him a dollar to make a character for me but haven't heard from him since,I never see him any more though.Anyone wan't to check out Mugen?

Have they even updated the Windows version? I used to play around with M.U.G.E.N all the time in the past. The engine was definately awesome, as you could make your own fantasy rosters of fighters. I was glad that there was so much fan-created content like I enjoyed with RPG Maker.

I used to do some MUGEN back in day, like 4 or 5 years ago... But now, the things its just not fun anymore and lack of Windows version really bites.

PS: If you look around you might find crack the leaked Windows version that was still Alpha or Beta stage.*Don't know, because I havn't tried*

I loved M.U.G.E.N. I made TMNT VS Dragonball Z and it was awesome.

Some of those original characters were down right amazing. Super Mario for one... I always had fun with that one. I'm sad that guy never finished Bowser, Samus, or Link. (at least not yet anyway). I doubt there is a M.U.G.E.N. that works on XP though. Too bad... I had a lot of fun with it a few years back.

No need to get sad,theres a WINMUGEN somewhere built strictly for the XP,do a search on dogpile or google and you may find it,If you don't know where go to Mugen Fury.

Unless I'm mistaken, MUGEN is PC only. So no, I've never used it. :sad:

You have to tweak the notepad file for that kind of stuff. It's a strange kind of programing that's very customizable. You can really have as many characters as you want as well as any kind of music. It's wicked sweet really.

Mugen got old a long time ago. Why? Because all the anime groups for it shut down, leaving sole creators such as myself who eventually shut down when they had to delete their 500 MB game to save the PC.

All broken links or locked files. Now I remember why I quit using Mugen in the first place. But thanks for trying. Maybe I just need to try them again.
